In this research, the hypereutectic Al–20Si alloy, containing an optimised amount of 4 wt-% γ-Al 2 O 3 and 0.1 strontium, was successfully synthesised through suction casting process. The cooling rate (563 K s −1 ) involved during solidification estimated by measuring secondary dendritic arm spacing. As a result, significant change in morphology silicon observed also led to formation small fraction refined α-Al throughout microstructure. work demonstrates that high tensile properties alloys...
Cooling Slope casting process has gained significant importance for manufacturing of semi-solid feedstock Al alloys and composites which find applications in automotive aerospace industries. The primary objective this research is to generate the suitable thixoforming process. current work discusses phenomena involved evolution microstructure feed stock by effect various parameters. parameters like angle length inclined plate affect size morphology α-Al phase. slope resulted formation fine...
