Global demand for rare earth elements (REEs), which are central to many modern high-tech industries, is increasing rapidly. For the first time, we discovered and determined REEs concentrations in Sichuan Basin shale gas flowback produced water (FPW). The total FPW investigated this work ranged from 4.5 118.3 μg/L. Europium (Eu) was found all samples (0.92–79.62 μg/L). Our study suggests that there approximately 4.2 tons of Eu2O3 worldwide 2016, value could increase 16.8–111.7 2030. We...
Dual carbon policies have spurred rapid growth in the electric vehicle and energy storage industry, leading to a surge demand for lithium batteries. To help meet this sustainably, natural polymer sodium alginate (SA) was cross-linked with Ca2+, SA/hydrogen manganese oxide (HMO) composite granular adsorbent successfully prepared by cross-linking method. The aim is extract from shale gas wastewater Sichuan Basin, China. produced microporous adsorbents an average pore size of 20 nm excellent...
Treatment and reuse of flowback produced water (FPW) from shale gas extraction for agricultural irrigation has often been proposed as a sustainable alternative to disposal via deep-well injection. Here, we investigate the effects FPW on germination period, macroscopic growth, element enrichment, grain gene expression wheat upon dilution advanced membrane treatment liquid stream. Compared tap water, with treated shortened time, slightly improved seed vigor index, ensured similar rate. On...
To minimize manganese loss during acid leaching and to enhance the lithium adsorption capacity of H1.33Mn1.67O4 from shale gas wastewater, this adsorbent material was doped with metallic elements in study. Doping achieved using solid-phase synthesis, resulting first Li1.33RXMn1.67−XO4 (R = Fe, Ni, Al) powder through high-temperature calcination. Then, leached out under acidic environment obtain H1.33RXMn1.67−XO4 (HMO-R) adsorbents. The equilibrium capacities HMO-R powders were measured as...
Shale gas flowback and produced water (SGFPW) greatly hinders sustainable shale development can cause severe environmental threats without proper treatment. Aerogel is an advanced adsorption material for treating SGFPW with complex components; nevertheless, there little investigation on the aerogel adsorbent designed treatment on-site. Herein, we report a facile green method preparing carbon granules (CAGs) porous biochar (PBA) incorporated physically cross-linked chitosan matrix...
