증강현실은 가상현실의 한 분야로 실제 환경에 가상 사물을 합성해 원래의 존재하는 사물처럼 보이 도록 하는 컴퓨터 그래픽 기법이다. 스마트 폰이 사람들에게 널리 보급되면서 우리에게 친숙하게 다가왔 고 이를 이용한 다양한 애플리케이션은 선풍적인 인기를 끌고 있다. 우리는 오픈 소스인 Mixare를 이용하 여 위치정보를 실시간으로 서비스하는 증강현실 기술을 애플리케이션을 개발하였다. 이 논문은 앤드로이드 폰 용 위치정보 서비스 애플리케이션 ‘홍대에 가면~’의 개발에 대하여 기술한다. 앱은 폰으로 학교주변의 건 물을 비추면 그 건물에 관한 상세 정보를 화면에 겹쳐 보여준다.
