The energies and $B({E2;0}_{\mathrm{g}.\mathrm{s}.}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{2}_{1}^{+})$ values for the lowest ${J}^{\ensuremath{\pi}}{\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}=\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}2}^{+}$ states in neutron-rich radioactive nuclei ${}^{38,40,42}\mathrm{S}$ ${}^{44,46}\mathrm{Ar}$ were measured via intermediate-energy Coulomb excitation. results ${}^{40,42}\mathrm{S}$ provide first evidence of moderate deformation near $N\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}=\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}28$, while...
The three-body breakup ${}^{6}{\stackrel{\ensuremath{\rightarrow}}{\mathrm{He}}}^{4}\mathrm{He}+n+n$ is studied experimentally, using a secondary ${}^{6}\mathrm{He}$ ion beam of 240 MeV/nucleon incident on carbon and lead targets. Integrated cross sections for one- two-neutron knockout differential $d\ensuremath{\sigma}{/dE}^{*}$ $d\ensuremath{\sigma}/d\ensuremath{\vartheta}$ inelastic nuclear or electromagnetic excitations into the continuum are presented. $E$1-strength distribution deduced...
Abstract. Plant phenological development is orchestrated through subtle changes in photoperiod, temperature, soil moisture and nutrient availability. Presently, the exact timing of plant stages their response to climate management practices are crudely represented land surface models. As visual observations phenology laborious, there a need supplement long-term with automated techniques such as those provided by digital repeat photography at high temporal spatial resolution. We present first...
Peripheral fragmentation of a 287 MeV/nucleon beam the halo nucleus ${}^{11}\mathrm{Li}$ incident on carbon target has been studied in fragment-neutron coincidence experiment. The momentum distribution ${}^{10}\mathrm{Li}$ fragments gives access to removed neutron ${}^{11}\mathrm{Li}$. From shape distribution, $({1s}_{1/2}{)}^{2}$ contribution mixture and $({0p}_{1/2}{)}^{2}$ components ground-state wave function was determined be $(45\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}10)%$. angular correlation...
The $\ensuremath{\gamma}$ decay of excited states in the waiting-point nucleus $^{130}\mathrm{Cd}_{82}$ has been observed for first time. An ${8}^{+}$ two-quasiparticle isomer populated both fragmentation a $^{136}\mathrm{Xe}$ beam as well projectile fission $^{238}\mathrm{U}$, making $^{130}\mathrm{Cd}$ most neutron-rich $N=82$ isotone which information about is available. results, interpreted using state-of-the-art nuclear shell-model calculations, show no evidence an shell quenching at...
We have measured the longitudinal momentum distribution of ${}^{18}\mathrm{C}$, ${}^{17}\mathrm{C}$, and ${}^{16}\mathrm{C}$ after one-neutron breakup $^{19}C$, respectively, using A1200 fragment separator as an energy-loss spectrometer. The observed narrow width $44.3\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}5.9\mathrm{MeV}/c$ for ${}^{18}\mathrm{C}$ fragments indicates that ${}^{19}\mathrm{C}$ is a new example halo, so far heaviest ever observed. consequences obtained results on structure three isotopes...
The three-body decay $^{12}\mathrm{O}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}2p+^{10}\mathrm{C}$ was studied following production via single-neutron stripping from a radioactive $^{13}\mathrm{O}$ projectile. This is the first observation of two-proton emission an unbound ground state where one-proton channel energetically closed beyond lightest case $^{6}\mathrm{Be}$. No evidence for $^{2}\mathrm{He}$ seen, despite predictions large diproton branching ratio. An upper limit 7% (95% C.L.) established this...
Measurements of deexcitation $\ensuremath{\gamma}$ rays in coincidence with the momentum distribution projectile residues produced reactions type ${}^{9}\mathrm{Be}{(}^{28}\mathrm{P}{,}^{27}\mathrm{Si}+\ensuremath{\gamma})X$ at energies around 65 MeV/u are used to study single-nucleon stripping individual states. The cross sections compared calculations based on an eikonal model description reaction and shell model. measurements indicate that halo character ground state other detailed...
The unstable neutron-deficient $^{108}\mathrm{Sn}$ isotope has been studied in inverse kinematics by intermediate-energy Coulomb excitation using the RISING/FRS experimental setup at GSI. This is highest Z nucleus so far with this method. Its reduced transition probability B (E2;0${}_{g.s.}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{2}_{1}^{+})$ measured for first time. extracted B($E2$) value of $0.230(57){e}^{2}\phantom{\rule{0.3em}{0ex}}{b}^{2}$ determined relative to known stable $^{112}\mathrm{Sn}$...
The N/Z dependence of projectile fragmentation at relativistic energies has been studied with the ALADIN forward spectrometer GSI Schwerionen Synchrotron (SIS). Stable and radioactive Sn La beams an incident energy 600 MeV per nucleon have used in order to explore a wide range isotopic compositions. For interpretation data, calculations statistical multifragmentation model for properly chosen ensemble excited sources were performed. parameters ensemble, representing variety spectator nuclei...
We have measured the Coulomb dissociation of 8B into 7Be and a proton at 254 MeV/nucleon using large-acceptance focusing spectrometer. The astrophysical S17-factor for 7Be(p,γ)8B reaction Ec.m.=0.25–2.78MeV is deduced yielding S17(0)=20.6±1.2 (expt) ±1.0(theor)eVb. This result agrees with presently adopted zero-energy obtained in direct-reaction measurements results other Coulomb-dissociation studies performed 46.5 51.2 MeV/nucleon.Received 8 April...
Coulomb breakup of unstable neutron-rich carbon isotopes 15,17C has been studied at energies around ∼500–600 MeV/nucleon. Non-resonant low-lying dipole strength is observed in these which can be explained by a direct mechanism. In addition to the decay neutron from excited projectile, γ-rays emitted fragments after are measured coincidence, giving access quantitative spectroscopic information. The factor deduced for valence occupying s1/2 level 15C ground state consistent with that obtained...
Abstract. One of the more frequently applied methods for integrating controls on primary production through satellite data is Light Use Efficiency (LUE) approach. Satellite indices such as Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Enhanced (EVI) and Shortwave Infrared Water Stress (SIWSI) have previously shown promise predictors in several different environments. In this study, we evaluate NDVI, EVI SIWSI derived from Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) sensor against...
The recently claimed observations of non-negligible amounts 6Li in old halo stars have renewed interest the Big-Bang Nucleosynthesis (BBN) 6Li. One important ingredient predicted BBN abundance is low-energy 2H(alpha,gamma)6Li cross section. Up to now, only available experimental result for this section showed an almost constant astrophysical S-factor below 400 keV, contrary theoretical expectations. We report on a new measurement reaction using break-up at 150 A MeV. Even though we cannot...
