The crystal and molecular structures of 4,4(')- 6,6(')-dimethyl-2,2(')-bipyridyl complexes with 2,5-dichloro-3,6-dihydroxy-p-benzoquinone (chloranilic acid, CLA) have been determined compared those the complex 5,5(')-derivative, which is known to possess interesting antiferroelectric properties. In crystalline state, all three compounds form hydrogen bonded chains N(+)-H···O(-) O-H···N bridges on both sides bipyridyl constituent. comparison derivatives indicates that bonds are shortest for...

Abstract The vibrational spectra of chloranilic acid (2,5‐dihydroxy‐3,6‐dichloro‐[1,4]‐benzoquinone) in the solid state were studied by using inelastic neutron scattering (INS), infrared (IR) and Raman (R) spectroscopy. compared with simulated Gaussian Climax programs. Sufficiently good agreement between experimental theoretical (DFT) is observed although calculations show that crystalline a bifurcation hydrogen bonds takes place. Relatively strong intermolecular interactions are noticeable...

The x-ray diffraction studies of the title complex were carried out at room temperature and 14 K for H/D (in hydrogen bridge) isotopomers. At 82 a phase transition takes place leading to doubling unit cells alternation bond lengths linking tetramethylpyrazine (TMP) chloranilic acid molecules. A marked isotope effect on these was found temperature. elongation is much smaller K. infrared isotopic ratio O-H(D)...N bands equals 1.33. four tunnel splittings methyl librational ground states...

Structural properties of HDPE+ZrO2 polymer nanocomposites thin films 80-100μm thicknesses were investigated using SANS, XRD, Laser Raman and FTIR spectroscopy. The mass fraction the filler was 1, 3, 10, 20%. Results XRD analysis showed that ZrO2 powder crystallized both in monoclinic cubic phase under normal conditions. percentages found to be 99.8% 0.2%, respectively. It nanoparticles did not affect main crystal chemical structure HDPE, but degree crystallinity decreases with increasing...
