A new method for broken rotor bars and load oscillation diagnosis on induction motors is presented. The proposed strategy based the decomposition of stator currents into their instantaneous active reactive current components. Such components allow decoupling effects produced by asymmetries from those oscillating loads. This allows not only proper fault detection but also a correct diagnosis. Simulation experimental results, both laboratory industrial cases, are presented to validate proposal.
