The authors' objective was to evaluate the effectiveness of radical surgery with lymph node dissection for gallbladder carcinoma. Long-term results were analyzed in 40 patients a 5-year study. authors divided cases into two groups: 20 without positive nodes and nodes. In group nodes, one patient who underwent R1 resection died recurrence at 1 year 7 months. Seventeen 19 treated R0 survived more than 5 years. survival rate 85% (17/20). 9 13 years, whereas seven or R2 within 45% (9/20)....

This study was designed to address whether gallbladder cancer invading the muscle layer (stage pT(1b)) is a local disease and radical resection necessary.A retrospective analysis of 25 patients with pT(1b) tumours, 13 whom underwent simple cholecystectomy 12 regional lymph node dissection, performed. A total 147 nodes examined for metastasis. The median follow-up time 95 months. No patient had blood vessel or perineural invasion on histology. Lymphatic seen in one patient. Both overt...

The aim of this study was to evaluate a novel prognostic value preoperative platelet-to-albumin ratio (PAR) in patients resected for pancreatic cancer.A total 107 who underwent resection cancer were studied. divided into two groups as PAR ≥46.4×103 or <46.4×103 Survival data analyzed using the log-rank test univariate analysis and Cox proportional hazards multivariate analysis. The significant index on disease-free survival (DFS) overall (OS). retained its significance OS (hazard...

Abstract In 21 patients with biliary tract cancer dye was injected into the lymphatic system of gallbladder to determine extent its regional lymph nodes. A volume 0.1–0.3 ml 1 per cent indigo carmine solution directly vessels in eight and nodes (cystic node or pericholedochal nodes) 13 during radical surgery for cancer. The visualized a total 14 patients. descended around bile duct, flowed cystic node, posterior head neck pancreas, finally reached interaortocaval adjacent left renal vein....

Seven patients with advanced carcinoma of the extrahepatic biliary tract, including two cancer gallbladder, underwent major hepatectomy concomitant pancreatoduodenectomy. The mean hepatic volume resected was 64 (range 35-81) per cent. Postoperative complications occurred in all and accounted for hospital deaths. Two gallbladder survived without recurrence 22 58 months. Three five bile duct operation, although three subsequently died from recurrent disease at 8, 10 27 Combined...

The C-reactive protein (CRP)-albumin-lymphocyte (CALLY) index is a novel inflammation-based biomarker, which has been associated with long-term outcomes in patients hepatocellular carcinoma. We aimed to investigate whether the CALLY can predict prognosis for distal cholangiocarcinoma after pancreaticoduodenectomy.

We investigated the prognostic impact of osteosarcopenia, which is combination osteopenia and sarcopenia, in patients with colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) after hepatic resection.

Frailty, represented by sarcopenia and osteopenia, has been associated with worse survival after hepatectomy in patients hepatocellular carcinoma. Recently, the concept term "osteosarcopenia" have proposed, which outcome several malignancies. This study included 227 who underwent elective hepatic resection for Osteopenia was evaluated computed tomographic measurement of pixel density midvertebral core 11th thoracic vertebra. Background/Aim The aim of this study was to investigate the prognostic impact inflammatory burden index (IBI), a novel inflammation-based biomarker, in patients with colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) after hepatic resection. Patients and Methods One hundred fifty CRLM who underwent hepatectomy were retrospectively analyzed. IBI defined as C-reactive protein × neutrophil count/lymphocyte count. relationship overall survival investigated by univariate multivariate analyses. Results...
