Abstract. In this paper we provide an overview of new knowledge on oxygen depletion (hypoxia) and related phenomena in aquatic systems resulting from the EU-FP7 project HYPOX ("In situ monitoring hypoxic ecosystems coastal open seas, landlocked water bodies", http://www.hypox.net). view anticipated loss due to eutrophication climate change, was set up improve capacities monitor hypoxia as well understand its causes consequences. Temporal dynamics spatial patterns were analyzed field studies...
Saline and warm Mediterranean water flowing through the Bosporus Strait maintains a permanent pycnocline with vertical separation of oxic (O 2 ), suboxic (absence O H S), anoxic (H S) zones in Black Sea. The stable zone implies restricted mixing upper lower layers limited flux oxygen that cannot balance upward sulfide. We report data directly confirm massive lateral injections (>200 km from Bosporus) oxygen‐enriched waters plume, created by shallow, cold, intermediate‐layer Sea water....

Providing sea and river vessels with purified fresh water is a task of primary importance, as it depends on providing the most important vital needs crew members passengers vessel. Waste from must also be before being released into environment. In addition, purification equipment one key systems specialized energy life support vessels. On modern ships, work in automatic mode under control computers, stability which ensured by information system. This devoted to development an system for...

Abstract. Wet atmospheric depositions have been collected in a rural (Katsiveli) and urban (Sevastopol) location at the Crimean coast of Black Sea from 2003 to 2008. Samples, 217 Katsiveli 228 Sevastopol, analysed for inorganic fixed nitrogen (nitrate, nitrite, ammonium). Data revealed almost equal contributions ammonium (44–45 %) nitrate (52–53 minor contribution nitrite (2–4 both samples. The volume weight mean concentration (IFN) samples (2.51 mg N L−1) is about 2-fold that content (1.16...
