We introduce a topological theory of perfect isolation: transmission from one side and total reflection the other simultaneously. The provides an efficient approach for determining whether such perfect-isolation point exists within finite parameter space. Herein, we demonstrate using example Lorentz nonreciprocal metasurface composed dimer unit cells. Our also suggests that points can annihilate each through coalescence opposite charges. findings could lead to novel designs high-performance...
We show that Maxwell's demon-like nonreciprocity can be supported in a class of non-Hermitian gyrotropic metasurfaces the linear regime. The proposed metasurface functions as transmission-only demon operating at pair photon energies. Based on multiple scattering theory, we construct dual-dipole model to explain underlying mechanism leads antisymmetric nonreciprocal transmission. results may inspire new designs compact devices for photonics.Received 5 October 2020Accepted 26 March...
