The arrangement of porphyrin molecules in the interlayer space layered double hydroxides (LDH) has been studied by a combination experimental techniques and molecular dynamics simulations. Intercalation 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-sulfonatophenyl)porphyrins (TPPS) into ZnRAl MgRAl LDH hosts led to gallery height about 15.5 Å that is comparable with size molecules. sulfonate groups are located at 4 from center hydroxide layers consistent hydrogen bonding interactions between OH layers. aromatic...
This Article presents the systematic experimental and theoretical investigation of structural arrangements dodecyl sulfate (DS) anions in interlayer space layered zinc hydroxide salts (LZH-DS) structure layers, with a detailed description ions' coordination environment. As-prepared, well-crystalline LZH-DS has basal spacing 31.5 Å. After treatment methanol at room temperature, layers shrank to form two new phases spacings 26.4 24.7 The shrinking was accompanied by decrease content DS space,...
Layered materials provide a two-dimensional interlayer space suitable for accommodating molecules with designed functionality. In this study, inorganic−organic hybrids were prepared by intercalation of anionic porphyrin sensitizers into the host structure layered zinc hydroxide salts. The inorganic offers stabilization and protection, whereas guest species photofunction. properties arrangement in studied combination experimental techniques molecular simulations. Intercalation porphyrins led...
Abstract Perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) herbicides are important persistent contaminants that require specific management. A variety of is stored in fluorinated containers the form aquatic solutions. In such environments, simultaneous release PFAS takes place. Nature-based solutions, as use clay materials possible sorbents, attractive for immobilization environmental protection. Nanotubular minerals, halloysite imogolite, sufficient sorbents herbicides. Due to their...
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are attracting increasing attention as adsorbents of contaminants emerging concern that difficult to remove by conventional processes. This paper examines how functional groups covering the pore walls phosphinate-based MOFs affect adsorption specific pharmaceutical pollutants (diclofenac, cephalexin, and sulfamethoxazole) their hydrolytic stability. New structures, isoreticular phosphinate MOF ICR-7, presented. The phenyl ring facing wall presented is modified...
Anionic drugs very poorly soluble in water, namely antidyslipidemic atorvastatin and antihypertensive valsartan were intercalated into MgAl LDH host using a restacking procedure, when the drugs, dissolved ethanol, added to aqueous dispersion of nanosheets, prepared by direct coprecipitation Mg Al nitrates excess ammonia solution under nitrogen. Despite large size molecules, products with high drug loading obtained; content 75.8 wt% 43.7 corresponded 100 60% anion exchange capacity,...
Abstract Natural Na-montmorillonite (MMT) with the formula (Na0.67K0.01Ca0.02)(Al2.90Mg0.59 Fe3+ 0.49Ti0.01)(Si7.92Al0.08)O20(OH)4was intercalated octadecylamine (C18H39N) (ODA) varied MMT/ODA ratios. The basal spacings d(00l) of natural and Na-MMT ODA were determined by XRD analysis. set diffractions: d(001) = 56 Å, d(002) 28 d(003) 18 d(004) 14 d(005) 11 Å for saturated Na-MMT/ODA intercalate indicates existence highly ordered periodic structure double-layer in silicate interlayer spacing....
