Amphiphilic lipid bilayers modify the friction properties of surfaces on top which they are deposited. In particular, measured sliding coefficient can be significantly reduced compared with native surface. We investigate in this work a numerical coarse-grained model DSPC (1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine) bilayer subject to longitudinal shear. The interleaflet is obtained from out-of-equilibrium pulling or relaxation simulations. we gain access transient viscoelastic response...

Abstract A fundamental result in the theory of Brownian motion is Einstein-Sutherland relation between mobility and diffusion constant. Any classical linear response transport coefficient obeys a similar Einstein-Helfand relation. We show this work how to derive interleaflet friction lipid bilayer by means an adequate generalisation Einstein Special attention must be paid practical cases constraints on system center mass position that enforced when coupling thermostat.
