We have measured the inclusive $b\ensuremath{\rightarrow}s\ensuremath{\gamma}$ branching ratio to be $(2.32\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.57\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.35)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}4}$, where first error is statistical and second systematic. Upper lower limits on ratio, each at 95% C.L., are $B(b\ensuremath{\rightarrow}s\ensuremath{\gamma})<4.2\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}4}$...
Using 13.5 ${\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ annihilation data collected with the CLEO II detector, we have observed a narrow resonance decaying to ${D}_{s}^{*+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$ mass near $2.46\mathrm{GeV}{/c}^{2}.$ The search for such state was motivated by recent discovery BaBar Collaboration at $2.32\mathrm{GeV}{/c}^{2},$ ${D}_{\mathrm{sJ}}^{*}{(2317)}^{+},$ that decays ${D}_{s}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}.$ Reconstructing...
We report on a study of the invariant mass spectrum hadronic system in decay ${\ensuremath{\tau}}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}{\ensuremath{\nu}}_{\ensuremath{\tau}}.$ This was performed with data obtained CLEO II detector operating at CESR ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collider. present fits to phenomenological models which resonance parameters associated $\ensuremath{\rho}(770)$ and $\ensuremath{\rho}(1450)$ mesons are...
Using 13.5 inverse fb of e+e- annihilation data collected with the CLEO II detector we have observed a narrow resonance in Ds*+pi0 final state, mass near 2.46 GeV. The search for such state was motivated by recent discovery BaBar Collaboration at 2.32 GeV, DsJ*(2317)+ that decays to Ds+pi0. Reconstructing Ds+pi0 and states data, observe peaks both corresponding reconstructed difference distributions, dM(Dspi0)=M(Dspi0)-M(Ds) dM(Ds*pi0)=M(Ds*pi0)-M(Ds*), them values 350 MeV. We interpret...
We have searched for sidereal variations in the rate of antineutrino interactions MINOS Near Detector. Using antineutrinos produced by NuMI beam, we find no statistically significant modulation rate. When this result is placed context Standard Model Extension theory are able to place upper limits on coefficients defining theory. These used combination with results from an earlier analysis neutrino data further constrain coefficients.
We have fully reconstructed decays of both B0 and B- Mesons into final states containing either D, D*, D**, Psi, Psi', or Chi_{c1} mesons. This allows us to obtain new results on many physics topics including branching ratios, tests the factorization hypothesis, color suppression, resonant substructure, - mass difference.
We study the exclusive semileptonic B meson decays ${\mathit{B}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$\ensuremath{\rightarrow}${\mathit{D}}^{\mathrm{*}0}$${\mathit{l}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$\ensuremath{\nu}\ifmmode\bar\else\textasciimacron\fi{} and B${\mathrm{\ifmmode\bar\else\textasciimacron\fi{}}}^{0}$\ensuremath{\rightarrow}${\mathit{D}}^{\mathrm{*}+}$${\mathit{l}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$\ensuremath{\nu}\ifmmode\bar\else\textasciimacron\fi{} using data collected with CLEO II detector at...
We report a measurement of the ${\mathit{D}}^{\mathrm{*}+}$ and ${\mathit{D}}^{\mathrm{*}0}$ decay branching fractions based on 780 ${\mathrm{pb}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}1}$ data collected with CLEO II detector. For radiative decay, we obtain an upper limit, scrB(${\mathit{D}}^{\mathrm{*}+}$\ensuremath{\rightarrow}${\mathit{D}}^{+}$\ensuremath{\gamma})4.2% (90% confidence level), which is substantially below previous results, eliminates need for anomalously large charm quark magnetic moment.
We present final measurements of 13 charmless hadronic B decay modes from the CLEO experiment. The include ten ππ, Kπ, and KK states new limits on dibaryonic states, p¯p, p¯Λ, Λ¯Λ, as well a determination ratio B(→BDK)/B(→BDπ). results are based full II III data samples totalling 15.3fb−1 at Υ(4S), supercede previously published results.Received February 2003Corrected 6 June 2007DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevD.68.052002©2003 American Physical Society
Using the CLEO II detector and a sample of 955 000 \ensuremath{\Upsilon}(4S) decays we have confirmed charmless semileptonic B mesons. In momentum interval 2.3--2.6 GeV/c observe an excess 107\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}15\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}11 leptons, which attribute to b\ensuremath{\rightarrow}ul\ensuremath{\nu}. This result yields model-dependent range values for \ensuremath{\Vert}${\mathit{V}}_{\mathit{u}\mathit{b}}$/${\mathit{V}}_{\mathit{c}\mathit{b}}$\ensuremath{\Vert} that...
We have used the CLEO II detector and $2.06{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(4S)$ data to measure $B$-meson semileptonic branching fraction. The $B\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\mathrm{Xe}\ensuremath{\nu}$ momentum spectrum was obtained over nearly full range by using charge kinematic correlations in events with a high-momentum lepton tag an additional electron. find...
We have measured the B0B¯0 mixing probability, χd, using a sample of 965 000 BB¯ pairs from Υ(4S) decays. Counting dilepton events, we find χd=0.157±0.016±0.018−0.021+0.028. Using tagged B0 χd=0.149±0.023±0.019±0.010. The first (second) error is statistical (systematic). third reflects ±15% uncertainty in assumption, made both cases, that charged and neutral B contribute equally to events. also obtain limit on CP impurity Bd0 system, ‖Re(εB0)‖<0.045 at 90% C.L.Received 29 April...
Using a sample of $2.6\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}$ $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(4\mathrm{S})\ensuremath{\rightarrow}B\overline{B}$ events collected with the CLEO II detector at Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we have measured form factors for ${\overline{B}}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{D}^{*+}{\ensuremath{\ell}}^{\ensuremath{-}}\overline{\ensuremath{\nu}}$. We perform three-parameter fit joint distribution four kinematic variables to obtain form-factor ratios...
We report a new measurement of the CKM parameter V_ub made with sample 9.7 million B B-bar events collected CLEO II detector. Using Heavy Quark theory, we combine observed yield leptons from semileptonic decay in end-point momentum interval 2.2-2.6 GeV/c recent data on --> X_s gamma to find |V_ub| = (4.08 +/- 0.34 0.44 0.16 0.24) x 10^-3, where first two uncertainties are experimental and last theory.
We report on determinations of |Vub| resulting from studies the branching fraction and q^2 distributions in exclusive semileptonic B decays that proceed via b->u transition. Our data set consists 9.7x10^6 BBbar meson pairs collected at Y(4S) resonance with CLEO II detector. measure B(B0 -> pi- l+ nu) = (1.33 +- 0.18 0.11 0.01 0.07)x10^{-4} rho- (2.17 0.34 +0.47/-0.54 0.41 0.01)x10^{-4}, where errors are statistical, experimental systematic, systematic due to residual form-factor...
We present measurements of spectral moments extracted from the invariant mass distributions final states hadronic τ decay products recorded in CLEO detector. From a fit theoretical predictions to and total width τ, we determine strong coupling constant set non-perturbative QCD parameters. The is measured be αs(mτ) = 0.306 ± 0.024, which when extrapolated Z mass, yields αs(Mz) 0.114 0.003.
We present the first evidence for production of $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(1D)$ states in four-photon cascade, $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(3S)\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\gamma}{\ensuremath{\chi}}_{b}(2P),$ ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{b}(2P)\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(1D),$ $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(1D)\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\gamma}{\ensuremath{\chi}}_{b}(1P),$...
Using the CLEO detector at Cornell Electron-positron Storage Ring, we have measured scaled momentum spectra, $d\ensuremath{\sigma}/d{x}_{p}$, and inclusive production cross sections of charm mesons ${D}^{+}$, ${D}^{0}$, ${D}^{\ensuremath{\star}+}$, ${D}^{\ensuremath{\star}0}$ in ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ annihilation about 10.5 GeV center mass energy, excluding decay products $B$ mesons. The statistical accuracy resolution are superior to previous measurements this energy.
We report new constraints on flavor-changing non-standard neutrino interactions from the MINOS experiment, in which versus antineutrino can be distinguished an event-by-event basis. analyzed a combined set of beam and data well-understood NuMI beam, found no evidence for deviations standard mixing. The observed energy spectra constrain parameter to range −0.20<εμτ<0.07(90%C.L.).Received 22 March 2013DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevD.88.072011© 2013 American Physical Society
We have studied two-body charmless hadronic decays of B mesons into the final states $\pi\pi$, $K \pi$, and $KK$. Using 3.3 million $B\bar{B}$ pairs collected with CLEO-II detector, we made first observation $B^0\to K^+\pi^-$, $B^+\to K^0\pi^+$, sum $B^+ \to \pi^+\pi^0$ K^+\pi^0$ (an average over charge-conjugate is always implied). place upper limits on branching fractions for remaining decay modes.
In a sample of $9.66\times 10^6 B\bar{B}$ pairs collected with the CLEO detector we make first observation B decays to an $\eta_c$ and kaon. We measure branching fractions $BR(B^+\to\eta_c K^+) = (0.69 + 0.26 - 0.21 +- 0.08 0.20)\times 10^{-3}$ $BR(B^0\to\eta_c K^0) (1.09 0.55 0.42 0.12 0.31)\times 10^{-3}$, where error is statistical, second systematic third from fraction uncertainty. From these extract decay constant in factorization approximation, $f_{\eta_c} 335 75$ MeV. also search for...
We have measured the branching fractions for B -> D_bar X, D and X \ell^+ \nu, where ``B'' is an average over B^0 B^+, ``D'' a sum D^0 D^+, and``D_bar'' D^0_bar D^-. From these results some previously fractions, we obtain Br(b c c_bar s) = (21.9 $\pm$ 3.7)%, s g) < 6.8% @ 90% c.l, Br(D^0 K^- \pi^+) (3.69 0.20)%. Implications ``B semileptonic decay problem'' (measured fraction being below theoretical expectations) are discussed. The increase in value of due to $B X$ eliminates 40% discrepancy.
We have studied two-body charmless hadronic decays of B mesons into the final states straight phiK and phiK(*). Using 9.7 million B&Bmacr; pairs collected with CLEO II detector, we observe B- --> phiK- B0--> phiK(*0) following branching fractions: B(B--->phiK-) = (5.5(+2.1)(-1.8)+/-0.6)x10(-6) B(B0--> phiK(*0)) (11.5(+4.5+1.8)(-3.7-1.7))x10(-6). also see evidence for B0-->phiK0 B---> phiK(*-). However, since statistical significance is not overwhelming these modes, determine upper limits...
