A Se/HPCF–rGO composite was synthesized as a highly stable cathode material for Li–Se batteries.
An ionic liquid, <italic>N</italic>-methyl-<italic>N</italic>-propyl pyrrolidine bromide (MPPBr), was introduced into the electrolyte of Li–O<sub>2</sub> batteries as a bi-functional redox mediator (RM). It could effectively reduce over-potential and facilitated formation more stable SEI layer on surface Li foil.
