Redirected jumping (RDJ) is a locomotion technique that allows users to explore virtual space larger than the available physical by imperceptibly manipulating users' viewpoints according different gains. In previous redirected work, types of gains were imposed separately, without considering possible interaction effects horizontal and vertical on distance perception. To figure out how humans perceive manipulation when more one gain used, in this paper, we explored joint manipulate distances...

The principal purpose of this work is the simulation ship wake in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging based on a facet scattering model. The hydrodynamic model surface waves mainly considers Kelvin and wind driven waves. For prediction radar returns from composite surface, semi-deterministic (SDFSM) proposed, which verified to have good performance through comparison with experiment by SASS-II.Then, distributions backscattering normalized cross section (NRCS) facets are investigated for...

This work investigates an electrically and optically tunable Fresnel lens in a liquid crystal (LC) cell with erasable rewritable photoconductive layer. By using Sagnac interferometer, Fresnel-like pattern can be induced on the polymer layer which results conductive nonconductive structures bright dark zones. effect causes mismatch of LC refractive index between adjacent zones external voltage, generating lens. The focal length proposed easily tuned by varying size, focusing efficiency controlled.

Virtual agents are typical assistance tools for navigation and interaction in Reality (VR) tour, training, education, etc. It has been demonstrated that the gaits, gestures, gazes, positions of virtual major factors affect user's perception experience seated standing VR. In this paper, we present a novel position-aware agent locomotion method, called PAVAL, can perform positioning (position+orientation) real time room-scale VR assistance. We first analyze design guidelines model problem...

Simulation of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging ship-generated internal wave wake in stratified ocean is conducted through the combination scattering and modulation effects under background wind waves. With derived surface velocity from potential, a reconstruction elevation implemented by means frequency decomposition technique. Based on hydrodynamic model, facet model presented for fully polarimetric backscattering bunching applied to SAR image simulation waves with an embedded wake....

The study on the scattering mechanism of breaking ship waves provides important theoretical basis to detection and radar imaging in a marine environment. This paper presents new procedure for evaluating electromagnetic field over perfect electric conductor sea surface. In this paper, different forms near-field are obtained by computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method, which means analyzing fully coupled fluid-structure interaction system detailed manner. Sufficient grids used CFD numerical...

This paper deals with the effects of horizontal skewness on Doppler spectra. A.K. Fung et al. pointed out that crests sea waves are tilted towards wind direction, which is referred to as skewness. Although nonlinear surface more realistic than linear one, it cannot embody statistical front-back asymmetry real due influence wind. Thus, impact must be considered. The first-order modified Lagrange model for asymmetric ocean combined Monte Carlo method produce two-dimensional (2-D) time-varying...

Cardioid microphones/hydrophones have a highly directional gain pattern of $[ \alpha + (1 - \alpha) \cos (\beta) ] ^{k}(\beta)$, where $k$ refers to the sensor's directivity order, $\alpha$ denotes same cardioidicity index, and $\beta$ represents an impinging signal's incident direction arrival relative cardioid axis. Three such cardioids organized in orthogonal orientation three Cartesian spatial dimensions colocation as one sensing unit—such 3-D triad has already attracted much recent...

The task of lane detection has garnered considerable attention in the field autonomous driving due to its complexity. Lanes can present difficulties for detection, as they be narrow, fragmented, and often obscured by heavy traffic. However, it been observed that lanes have a geometrical structure resembles straight line, leading improved results when utilizing this characteristic. To address challenge, we propose hierarchical Deep Hough Transform (DHT) approach combines all features an image...
