Water fluoride levels above the World Health Organization's guideline (1.5 mg/L), common in overexploited aquifers, represent a health hazard. Our objective was to assess risks posed by exposure different drinking water sources contaminated basin Mexico. Fluoride measured mutual and urine of 39 children women. Risks were estimated through hazard quotient (HQ) source. Dental fluorosis assessed children. Mean concentrations (mg/L) were: well, 4.2; waterhole, 2.7; bottled, 2.1; rainwater, 0.4....
Many aquifers in Mexico contain toxic levels of arsenic and fluoride; still, 39% the population relies on groundwater for drinking. Our objectives were to evaluate health risks fluoride drinking water central [Cuenca Alta del Río Laja (CARL)] northern [Comarca Lagunera (CL)] Mexico, compare economic trade-offs different aquifer pumping scenarios. In two CARL studies, we measured children's urine; estimated through hazard quotients (HQ). 2018 assessed dental fluorosis (n=39) 2019,...
