Novel species of fungi described in this study include those from various countries as follows: Australia: Apiognomonia lasiopetali on Lasiopetalum sp., Blastacervulus eucalyptorum Eucalyptus adesmophloia, Bullanockia australis (incl. gen. nov.) Kingia australis, Caliciopsis eucalypti marginata, Celerioriella petrophiles Petrophile teretifolia, Coleophoma xanthosiae Xanthosia rotundifolia, Coniothyrium hakeae Hakea Diatrypella banksiae Banksia formosa, Disculoides corymbiae Corymbia...
Environmental sequencing regularly recovers fungi that cannot be classified to any meaningful taxonomic level beyond “Fungi”. There are several examples where evidence of such lineages has been sitting in public sequence databases for up ten years before receiving scientific attention and formal recognition. In order highlight these unidentified scrutiny, a search function is presented produces updated lists approximately genus-level clusters fungal ITS sequences remain at the phylum, class,...
Corniculariella brasiliensis sp. nov. is proposed here as a new species of coelomycetes, based on material isolated from the rhizosphere Caesalpinia echinata. differs other congeneric mainly by shape and size conidia. The phylogenetic relationship between related genera discussed.
Recent molecular studies have identified substantial fungal diversity in indoor environments. Fungi and particles been linked to a range of potentially unwanted effects the built environment, including asthma, decay building materials, food spoilage. The study mycobiome is hampered by number constraints, one which poor state metadata annotation DNA sequences from environment public databases. In order enable precise interrogation such data – for example, "retrieve all recovered bathrooms"...
In this work fresh material and herbarium specimens of Lentinus Panus from the semi-arid region Brazil were analyzed. A new species, parvus, is described as one smallest species among lentinoid species. bertieri, L. swartzii, tephroleucus, P. velutinus are recorded for first time Brazilian region. Additional, comments a key to provided. caespiticola, hirtiformis, neostrigosus combinations proposed here clear understanding in discussion parvus.
Abstract Four new genera encompassing six species are described in the Lyophyllaceae ( Agaricales ): monotypic Australocybe from Australia; Phaeotephrocybe Belize; Nigrocarnea Laos containing novel conidia-producing N. radicata and Praearthromyces two Asian taxa, P . corneri known Malaysia Singapore griseus Thailand, which lacks conidial production. In addition, we describe Arthromyces glabriceps , is first genus that production on basidiome. Alternative options for a classification of these...
A literature-based checklist of Entolomataceae species (Agaricales, Basidiomycota) occurring in Central and South Americas is provided. In total, 271 belonging to 13 genera are reported, representing roughly 18% the known taxa worldwide. Here, Brazil (107 spp.) Argentina (80 were most representative countries. This list does not reflect real diversity Neotropics but covers only our limited inconclusive knowledge.
Phaeocollybia nigripes is described from an Atlantic Forest fragment in Pernambuco, Northeast Brazil. It characterized by a stipe that uniformly slender with slightly swollen base and dark grayish brown below to almost black at the apex, pileus, large basidiospores average 12.4 × 6.6 μm, hyphoid narrowly clavate cheilocystidia, abundant clamp connections. The holotype of P. megalospora var. , putatively most similar taxon, was examined. A key six taxa reported Brazil also presented.
Psathyrella atlantica is described based on material collected in an Atlantic Forest fragment the state of Pernambuco, Northeast Brazil. It characterized by slender, whitish and caespitose basidiomata; pileus with orange, small floccose-squamulose veil remnants; presence a persistent but fragile-membranous annulus; basidiospores 5-7 × 3-4 µm; inconspicuous germ pore. A full description plus illustrations comments morphological phylogenetic data are provided.
Recent collection of Gloeocantharellus corneri is discovered from Amazonia in the State Pará, North Brazil. Description, discussion, drawings and photographs are provided.
