Like our Moon, the majority of solar system's satellites are locked in a 1:1 spin-orbit resonance; on average, these show same face toward planet at constant rotation rate equal to satellite's orbital rate. In addition uniform rotational motion, physical librations (oscillations about an equilibrium) also occur. The may contain signatures internal properties. Using stereophotogrammetry Cassini Image Science Subsystem (ISS) images, we measured longitudinal forced Saturn's moon Mimas. Our...

Abstract In this paper, we present the results obtained in determination of true north direction on Mars by using a gnomon InSight mission and compare measurements with either North from Inertial Measurement Unit imaging analysis. The measurement has been used to populate SEIS orientation information archived data. Images taken during December 2018 January 2019 allow determine shadow position length over target. By calculating Sun local coordinates planetary ephemeris VSOP87, images are...

Abstract Titan longitudinal librations are dependent on the satellite internal structure and elastic behavior of surface. The deformation surface is related to perturbing potential through Love theory. In a previous paper, we described as response tidal exerted by Saturn at orbital frequency. Here improve reponse including effect libration angle perturbations. We then provide amplitudes associated with rotational model tidally deformed three-layer evolving non-Keplerian orbit.
