Blue shifts corresponding to the absorption edge in UV-A (310–400 nm) range are obtained from ultraviolet (UV) spectra of monodisperse CeO2−x (0<x<0.5) nanoparticles, which produced as toluene suspensions by a successive microemulsification method. The blue shift nanoparticles is inversely proportional 2.2 power particle size for direct transition, but no relation found an indirect transition. In contrast, thin films 100–200 nm thickness exhibits nearly inverse square root...
Abstract Photo‐ and radioluminescence characteristics of the Pr 3+ ‐doped Lu 3 Al 5 O 12 single crystal are reported compared with those Pr‐doped Y . With respect to host, lower emission quenching better temperature stability round 300 K is obtained for 5d–4f peaking 308 nm about a factor 2 higher intensity observed around this temperature. The photoluminescence decay time 17 ns, while scintillation dominated by component 25 ns. (© 2005 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
A 2 in. diam single crystal of lithium tetraborate (Li2B4O7) was successfully grown by the Czochralski method. The free from macrodefects and had a dislocation density as low 100/cm2. It an excellent homogeneity refractive index wide transparency down to 170 nm. optical damage threshold 40 GW/cm2. Second-harmonic generation sum frequency were investigated in association with fourth fifth harmonics Q-switched Nd:YAG laser. conversion efficiency second-harmonic green (532 nm) light 20%.
The literature on melt growth of single crystalline fibers is reviewed. paper introduces in the characteristic features and wide field advanced applications micro crystals elongated form having a small diameter region mykrometer-millimeter. A brief historical survey given. After that typical methods for production fiber are shown - zone floating (i.e. LHPG) pulling from die Stepanow, EFG down techniques). Some selected fundamentals process described detail, like mass heat balance, capillary...
Pr-doped Lu3(GaxAl1−x)5O12:Pr, x=0–1, single crystals were grown by the micro-pulling-down method. We study luminescence and scintillation characteristics of sample set focusing on their dependence gallium content. For x=0.4 we obtain high figure-of-merit material with elevated density, efficiency, very fast response below 20ns without any slower components. Improvement performance is explained as due to absence antisite LuAl defects that was for first time realized in such bulk garnet from...
High-energy spin excitations up to above 8000 ${\mathrm{cm}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}1}$ were measured by polarized Raman scattering in the insulating phases of S=1/2 copper oxides, ${\mathrm{La}}_{2}$${\mathrm{CuO}}_{4}$, ${\mathrm{YBa}}_{2}$${\mathrm{Cu}}_{3}$${\mathrm{O}}_{6.2}$, ${\mathrm{Bi}}_{2}$${\mathrm{Sr}}_{2}$${\mathrm{Ca}}_{0.5}$${\mathrm{Y}}_{0.5}$${\mathrm{Cu}}_{2}$${\mathrm{O}}_{8+\mathit{y}}$, ${\mathrm{Nd}}_{2}$${\mathrm{CuO}}_{4}$, and...
We have exploited the broad absorption and emission bandwidth of laser crystal Ca/sub 3/(NbGa)/sub 2-x/Ga/sub 3/O/sub 12/ doped with Nd/sup 3+/ to develop a tunable mode locked diode-pumped 1.06 /spl mu/m laser. also present fluorescence excitation spectra at different temperatures from 10 298 K. The spontaneous transition probabilities, branching ratios, radiative lifetime are calculated by means Judd-Ofelt theory compared experimental results. stimulated cross-sections most important...
Abstract A high‐efficiency bulk heterojunction organic photovoltaic cell (OPV) was achieved by the electrospray deposition method. The surface roughness of P3HT:PCBM thin film can be reduced using mixed solvent consisting o‐dichlorobenzene (o‐DCB) and acetone. effect acetone concentration is related to its dielectric constant. Under an optimized in o‐DCB (20 vol%), P3HT/PCBM active layer with a smooth formed, power conversion efficiency OPV 1.9%. magnified image (© 2011 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH...
Two major fiber crystal growth methods have been applied for the synthesis and spectroscopic characterizations of Yb3+-doped Y3Al5O12 (Yb:YAG) to show feasibility a flexible single laser. One is micropulling-down (μ-PD) method other laser heated pedestal (LHPG) method. 500 mm length with no Yb segregation has grown by μ-PD A detailed analysis Yb:YAG spectroscopy made contribute discussion on determination energy levels. On hand, combinatorial chemistry approach concentration gradient fibers...
Yb-doped Ca8La2(PO4)6O2 (CLPA) single crystals with the apatite-type structure and having <0001> orientation were grown by micro-pulling-down (μ-PD) method. The apatite is represented monophased field of Ca8(La2–xYbx)-(PO4)6O2 (CLYPA) where it assumed that 2 Ca2+ sites are substituted La3+ Yb3+ cations. Its range was found to be from x = 0.0 0.2. segregation in CLPA maximum concentration discussed. crystallinity studied using X-ray rocking curve analysis. Absorption, emission fluorescence...
Undoped β-Ga2O3 single crystals were grown by the floating zone technique under several mixtures of N2 and O2 gas 2 atm pressure. Polarized reflectance spectra in 50–1200 cm—1 region showed all 12 IR active modes, with an additional background due to free carrier reflection. By least-squares fitting, resonance frequency, oscillator strength, damping constant for each lattice oscillator, plasma frequency factor carriers determined. Electrical measurements conductivity Hall-coefficient...
