Although hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has become a common indication for liver transplantation (LT), intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) and combined carcinoma-cholangiocarcinoma (cHCC-CCA) are historically contraindicated due to their aggressive behavior. On the basis of recent experiences, some groups have proposed clinical trial investigating role LT patients with early (CCA), defined as single lesion ≤ 2 cm. The purpose this study is assess clinicopathologic features outcomes...

Core needle biopsy (CNB) has been suboptimal in the subclassification and grading of mesenchymal tumors. Recent advances molecular diagnostics have shown promise improving this area. The institutional experience with CNBs soft tissue lesions on cytology cases correlated histologic follow-up evaluated. It also addressed advantageous use ancillary techniques, including immunohistochemistry studies.Archived cytologic CNB material reports patients were retrieved results final resection compared....

Pharyngeal liposarcomas are very rare; still more rare dedifferentiated in the pharynx. An 82-year-old man presented with dysphagia, voice changes, weight loss, nasal regurgitation of liquids, and coughing spells. A 3.5 cm mass was identified hypopharynx. The biopsied diagnosed as a benign fibroepithelial polyp. Continued symptoms airway obstruction prompted pharyngectomy, then liposarcoma. Due to infrequency subtle histological findings, head neck can be misdiagnosed recur.

The 2014 Bethesda System recommends reporting the finding of benign-appearing, exfoliated endometrial cells on Papanicolaou (Pap) tests in women aged 45 years and older. We aimed to determine significance normal liquid-based Pap 40 older correlate this with clinical factors cytologic/histologic follow-up.We retrospectively identified all who had benign (BECs) at our institution during a 6-year period. Histologic follow-up outcomes were evaluated.Among 18,850 study period, 255 (1.4%) findings...

Chordomas are primary low grade malignant tumors of bone that usually arise within both ends axial skeleton. The Notochord is a midline, ectoderm-derived structure defines the phylum chordates. may pose difficult diagnostic challenges when encountered in secondary locations, such as lungs or other parenchymatous organs. We report cytologic findings metastatic chordoma sampled through CT-scan guided fine needle aspiration (FNA) lower lobe lung nodule 54-year-old man diagnosed with recurrent...

Abstract Background Ameloblastoma imposes significant morbidity and high‐recurrence rates following surgery radiation therapy. Although 89% of cases harbor oncogenic mutations, the role targeted therapy is undefined. Case We describe a case 40‐year‐old male with multiply recurrent, locally invasive ameloblastoma posterior maxillary ridge. The tumor was unresectable for negative margins due to extensive intracranial disease, patient suffered severe symptoms including pain. Immune genomic...

Glandular neoplasms of the temporal-mastoid region and endolymphatic sac (ELS) are rare, it is quite challenging to differentiate between an adenoma adenocarcinoma. ELS tumors (ELST) usually present with papillary, follicular, or solid patterns can be further distinguished histologically through immunohistochemistry. The microscopic features clinical course this neoplasm have been comprehensively explained by Heffner, who considered "low-grade adenocarcinoma likely origin." papillary form...

Phyllodes tumors (PTs) account for < 3% of fibroepithelial breast lesions and 0.3% to 1.0% primary tumors. They occur predominantly in middle-aged women (mean age range, 40–50 years). PTs can be categorized into benign, borderline, malignant; the first 2 categories are distinguished only by degree cellular atypia mitotic activity. Malignant more frequent among persons Hispanic ethnicity, especially those born Central America or South America. Heterologous sarcomatous elements may present...

Synovial sarcomas (SS) are rare soft tissue that usually arise near large extremity joints. SS may pose difficult diagnostic challenges on cytology when encountered as a monophasic variant.
