Salinization is one of the most serious land degradation problems facing world. Salinity results in poor plant growth and low soil microbial activity due to osmotic stress toxic ions. Soil microorganisms play a pivotal role soils through mineralization organic matter into available nutrients. Therefore it important maintain high soils. tolerant microbes counteract by synthesizing osmolytes which allows them their cell turgor metabolism. Osmotic potential function salt concentration solution...
Abstract. Haze pollution caused by PM2.5 is the largest air quality concern in China recent years. Long-term measurements of and precursors chemical speciation are crucially important for evaluating efficiency emission control, understanding formation transport associated with change meteorology, accessing impact human activities on regional climate change. Here we reported long-term continuous PM2.5, components, their at a background station, Station Observing Regional Processes Earth...
Abstract. Atmospheric submicron particulate matter (PM1) is one of the most significant pollution components in China. Despite its current popularity studies aerosol chemistry, characteristics, sources and evolution atmospheric PM1 species are still poorly understood China, particularly for two harvest seasons, namely, summer wheat autumn rice harvest. An Aerodyne Aerosol Chemical Speciation Monitor (ACSM) was deployed online monitoring during seasons urban Nanjing, Yangtze River delta (YRD)...
Soil erosion is an important cause of global land degradation and other ecological environmental problems. Revealing the influence mechanism use/cover change (LUCC) on sediment yield can provide a scientific basis for efficient comprehensive decision-making management watersheds. As indicator transport capacity, connectivity has been widely studied in recent years. However, existing index (IC) ignores upslope confluence corresponding changes downslope transport. Moreover, formula describing...
Gully erosion is the main cause of global land degradation. The factors controlling gully at watershed scale have been extensively studied, but spatial pattern gullies and their primary environmental are unclear. In order to explore regional over thousands square kilometers, 34 sample areas were selected in northeastern China 10 proposed. Based on interpretations from high-resolution Google Earth images analysis, kernel density estimation (with polyline features), correlation results show...
Mollisols are rich in organic matter, which makes them suitable for cultivation and enhancing global food security. experiencing severe soil erosion due to overfarming a lack of maintenance. Thus, water conservation measures (SWCMs) needed protect Mollisols. However, how SWCMs respond changes slope gradient rainfall their effective application area remain ambiguous. Using long-term field observation dataset, meta-analysis, statistical test methods, we reveal the typical reduction effect...
In the black soil region of Northeast China, issue gully erosion persists as a significant threat, resulting in extensive damage to farmland, severe degradation soil, and decreased productivity. It is therefore utmost importance accurately identify areas that are susceptible effectively prevent control its negative impact. This study tried utilize geographical detectors (geodetectors) means factors contribute distribution gullies assess risk (GER) five catchments within region, with ranging...
Precipitation is the only water supply and most important factor affecting vegetation growth on slopes of semi-arid Loess Plateau China. Based precipitation data from 7 synoptic stations in study area over period 1957-2012, trends standardized index (SPI) were analyzed by using linear regression, Mann-Kendall, Spearman's Rho tests at 5% significance level. The results show that (1) fluctuation monthly was intense (coefficients variation> 100%), drier years recorded as 1965 1995 all stations....
Abstract Spatial–temporal trends of extreme precipitation have great impacts on disaster risks, and relevant studies usually receive much attention. In China, spatial–temporal been analysed in numerous based daily rainfall data; however, the densities rain gauges many were relatively low, effects complex topography not considered, which lowered reliability accuracy reported results. this study, several widely used indices chosen, a typical watershed Hengduan Mountain Region Southwest...
