Solutions of poly(ether ether ketone) in dichloroacetic acid have been shown to form monolithic, thermoreversible gels at temperatures ranging from 10 140 °C. A phase diagram was constructed over broad concentration and temperature ranges, the boundary suggests an upper critical solution (UCST) behavior. Furthermore, (PEEK) were solvent-exchanged with water hydrogels subsequently lyophilized PEEK aerogels. The aerogels density 0.2 g/mL found be highly porous composed uniform 200 nm...

Cellular silicone reinforced with silica filler prepared using additive manufacturing (AM) have been used widely for vibrational damping and shockwave mitigation. The two most commonly printed cellular structures, simple cubic (SC) face-centered tetragonal (FCT) display distinctly different static dynamic mechanical responses dependent upon structure. In this work, the relationship between size composition response is investigated polydimethylsiloxane-based silicones filled aluminum oxide,...

Ion exchange membranes used for energy generation and water purification selectively transport ions, this characteristic is strongly influenced by ion sorption in such membranes. Although content fixed charge group concentration are key factors affecting membranes, their individual effects on not often studied. Here, a series of cross-linked cation (CEMs) were synthesized with different uptake values similar concentrations to study the effect materials. Equilibrium co-ion all very at given...

ABC triblock copolymers bearing adenine- and thymine-functionalized external blocks self-assembled into long-range, ordered lamellar microphase-separated morphologies on non-patterned substrates. Intermolecular hydrogen bonding formed thymine-adenine triplets promoted self-assembly well-defined lamellae consisting of poly(n-butyl acrylate) soft domains complementary nucleobase hard domains, while duplets contributed to superior mechanical properties.

Although direct ink writing (DIW) allows the rapid fabrication of unique 3D printed objects, resins-or "inks"-available for this technique are in short supply and often offer little functionality, leading to development new, custom inks. However, when creating new inks, ability lead a successful print, or "printability," must be considered. Thus, work examined effect filler composition/concentration, printing parameters, lattice structure on printability polysiloxane inks incorporating high...

ABSTRACT We report the design of bioinspired, reversible supramolecular thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) functionalized with ureido‐cytosine (UCyt) complementary quadruple hydrogen bonding (QHB) sites. The polymer contained a soft poly( n ‐butyl acrylate) central block that imparted flexibility and two external, hard nucleobase‐containing blocks contributed to structural integrity. In addition, pendant QHB motifs served as efficient physical crosslinks further enhance thermomechanical...
