A one-pot melt polymerization of plant oil-based monomers and diamines afforded film-forming, isocyanate-free poly(amide-hydroxyurethane)s with processability mechanical integrity.
Solutions of poly(ether ether ketone) in dichloroacetic acid have been shown to form monolithic, thermoreversible gels at temperatures ranging from 10 140 °C. A phase diagram was constructed over broad concentration and temperature ranges, the boundary suggests an upper critical solution (UCST) behavior. Furthermore, (PEEK) were solvent-exchanged with water hydrogels subsequently lyophilized PEEK aerogels. The aerogels density 0.2 g/mL found be highly porous composed uniform 200 nm...
The phase diagram for the thermoreversible gelation of poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK) in 4-chlorophenol (4CP) was constructed over broad temperature and concentration ranges, revealing that PEEK is capable dissolving forming gels both 4CP dichloroacetic acid (DCA) up to a 25 wt %. Highly porous aerogels were prepared through simple solvent exchange followed by one two drying methods removal from wet gel: freeze-drying or supercritical CO2 fluid extraction (SC-drying). field-emission...
Cellular silicone reinforced with silica filler prepared using additive manufacturing (AM) have been used widely for vibrational damping and shockwave mitigation. The two most commonly printed cellular structures, simple cubic (SC) face-centered tetragonal (FCT) display distinctly different static dynamic mechanical responses dependent upon structure. In this work, the relationship between size composition response is investigated polydimethylsiloxane-based silicones filled aluminum oxide,...
Ureido-cytosine pendant groups contributed to random acrylic copolymers with enhanced thermomechanical performance, well-defined morphologies, and reduced water uptake.
Ion exchange membranes used for energy generation and water purification selectively transport ions, this characteristic is strongly influenced by ion sorption in such membranes. Although content fixed charge group concentration are key factors affecting membranes, their individual effects on not often studied. Here, a series of cross-linked cation (CEMs) were synthesized with different uptake values similar concentrations to study the effect materials. Equilibrium co-ion all very at given...
ABC triblock copolymers bearing adenine- and thymine-functionalized external blocks self-assembled into long-range, ordered lamellar microphase-separated morphologies on non-patterned substrates. Intermolecular hydrogen bonding formed thymine-adenine triplets promoted self-assembly well-defined lamellae consisting of poly(n-butyl acrylate) soft domains complementary nucleobase hard domains, while duplets contributed to superior mechanical properties.
Although direct ink writing (DIW) allows the rapid fabrication of unique 3D printed objects, resins-or "inks"-available for this technique are in short supply and often offer little functionality, leading to development new, custom inks. However, when creating new inks, ability lead a successful print, or "printability," must be considered. Thus, work examined effect filler composition/concentration, printing parameters, lattice structure on printability polysiloxane inks incorporating high...
ABSTRACT Reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization produced novel ABA triblock copolymers with associative urea sites within pendant groups in the external hard blocks. The served as models to study influence of hydrogen bonding on polymer physical properties and morphology. consisted a soft central block poly(di(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate) (polyDEGMEMA, 58 kg/mol) copolymer blocks poly(2‐(3‐hexylureido)ethyl methacrylate‐ co...
ABSTRACT We report the design of bioinspired, reversible supramolecular thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) functionalized with ureido‐cytosine (UCyt) complementary quadruple hydrogen bonding (QHB) sites. The polymer contained a soft poly( n ‐butyl acrylate) central block that imparted flexibility and two external, hard nucleobase‐containing blocks contributed to structural integrity. In addition, pendant QHB motifs served as efficient physical crosslinks further enhance thermomechanical...
Fully-aromatic homopolyester based on biphenyl 3,4′-bibenzoate facilitated a nematic mesophase and restricted crystallization.
This work demonstrates the successful blocky bromination of syndiotactic polystyrene (sPS-co-sPS-Br) copolymers containing 6–30 mol%p-bromostyrene units, using a post-polymerization functionalization method conducted in heterogeneous gel state.
Via solvent annealing, PMMA-b-PS nanofibers form long-range ordered nanostructures with a preferred domain orientation that is perpendicular to the fiber axis. Solvent annealing represents powerful new strategy for controlling block copolymer in fibers.
This manuscript describes the structure–property–morphology relationships of doubly charged 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (DABCO) salt-containing ABA triblock ionomers. The copolymers consist a soft poly(n-butyl acrylate) (PnBA) central block and two external styrenic hard blocks bearing amphiphilic pendant C18-alkyl groups salt units. Surprisingly, DABCO preserved thermomechanical integrity until degradation, which indicated formation reinforcing physical network compared to corresponding...

The data reported herein supports interpretation discussion provided article "Impact Filler Composition Mechanical Dynamic Response Printed Silicone-based Nanocomposite Elastomers" [1]. datasheet describes model structures interaction energies between fillers other components by using Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations. report includes responses...
This work demonstrates the first high-resolution comonomer sequencing of Blocky brominated syndiotactic polystyrene (sPS-co-sPS-Br) copolymers based on pentad assignments quaternary carbon region nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum. Copolymers containing p-bromostyrene (Br-Sty) units were prepared in matched sets using postpolymerization bromination methods carried out heterogeneous gel state (Blocky) and homogeneous solution (Random). Quantitative information from spectra, heteronuclear...
