Abstract A bismuth‐film electrode (BiFE) ex situ electrochemically deposited onto a copper substrate has been presented for paraquat determination. The bismuth film was at an applied potential of −0.18 V vs. Ag/AgCl (3.0 M KCl) 200 s. analytical curve linear in the concentration range from 6.6×10 −7 to 4.8×10 −5 with limit detection 9.3×10 −8 M. method satisfactory results confidence level 95% and performance evaluated water samples.
