Abstract We prepared Pt/Co/Pt( t Pt )/IrMn heterostructures with perpendicular exchange bias (PEB) by inserting a spacer between Co and IrMn. X-ray diffraction demonstrates that the IrMn layers exhibit (111) texture promoting PEB.
