The study of the rheological behavior sediment suspensions is one most important tools for understanding fundamental physical processes that occur between interaction particles and homogeneous fluid. As lahars are natural flows along slopes volcanoes consist large blocks supported by a matrix fine suspended in water, their can be studied from characterization. Most stresses distributed mainly within matrix, due to its abundance flow capacity support blocks. This work proposes an appropriate...
Geophysical flows, such as debris avalanches, pyroclastic density currents, etc., represent one of the main sources natural hazards. Some these can be classified dry granular i.e., gravity-driven mixtures discrete grains that are prevalent in a wide range volcanological scenarios (e.g. block and ash etc.). These flows characterized by high degree polydispersity terms grain size density, which turn affects flow properties. Specifically, presence fine particles modifies structure segregating...
Abstract On the basis of rotating drum analogue experiments, we describe a fragmentation process acting within debris flows during transport and its influence on rheologic behavior. Our hypothesis is based detailed textural analysis including granulometry, clast morphology, properties fluid matrix. Results experiments point out that breakage certain granulometric classes produces fine particles like sand silt. The population growth clasts with time leads to an increase in yield strength...
Abstract Detailed analysis was conducted on large‐scale gravitational‐tectonic deformations and landslides in the Acambay graben, an intra‐arc basin trans‐Mexican volcanic belt (TMVB). Field mapping remote sensing revealed slope instability of northern graben boundary induced by Acambay‐Tixmadejé fault. Two major 0·1 km 3 0·05 volume were identified their characteristics analyzed according to role tectonics, mechanism failure, possible triggering factors. Quaternary faulting played a...
