To evaluate cytotoxicity and tissue repair of a new chicken eggshell-derived bioceramic (hydroxyapatite/dicalcium phosphate anhydrous-HA/DCPA). Cytotoxicity was evaluated in fibroblasts (L cell, L-929) by MTT test. Tissue HA/DCPA compared to HA/β-TCP (Maxresorb-MXR). Two critical-sized bone defects (CSDs) were drilled the calvarial 24 Wistar rats filled with one biomaterials. The animals euthanized after 30, 60, 90 days, specimens examined histomorphometric analyses, scanning electron...

This study compared the effect of two bioceramics on process bone repair: α-tricalcium phosphate (α-TCP) cement and β-tricalcium hydroxyapatite particles (β-TCP/HA). Calvarial defects were created in 50 rats, divided into groups (α β/HA). Software was used at 7, 21, 60, 90 120 days to assess formation. Mean new formation rates as follows: α group, 1.6% 7 days, 5.24% 21 24% 60 30.21% 50.59% days; β/HA 1.94% 2.53% 12.47% 26.84% 38.82% control 0.15% 10.12% 15.10% 18.94% 48.50% days. Both...

Gardner syndrome is a hereditary disease in which patients develop gastrointestinal polyps, osteomas, desmoid tumors, epidermoid cysts, fibromas, lipomas, and retinal lesions. Dental abnormalities such as supernumerary or impacted teeth, odontomas dentigerous cysts are also reported. The most serious concern this the extremely high risk of polyps undergoing malignant transformation. Since maxillofacial findings usually precede dentist plays crucial role diagnosis syndrome, panoramic...

ABSTRACT Aims to describe a case in which dental changes were observed and investigation proceeded consider Enamel‐Renal‐Syndrome (ERS), rare disorder that associates amelogenesis imperfecta with nephrocalcinosis. Case report an 11‐year‐old male patient upon intraoral examination revealed generalized gingival hyperplasia, few teeth absent clinically the remaining ones yellowish‐brown color. The enamel alterations suggesting of imperfecta. Unerupted increased pericoronal spaces, hyperplasic...

Abstract Lemierre's syndrome is characterized by thrombophlebitis in the internal jugular vein after an infection area of head or neck, mostly form pharyngitis and/or tonsillitis. It may also result from less common conditions, such as odontogenic infections, but this condition has not often been reported dental literature. The syndrome's main etiological agent Fusobacterium necrophorum , and it most commonly occurs young adults. This study reports clinical case a 34‐year‐old female patient...
