The Purcell effect of a nanoshell dimer on the fluorescence single molecule placed within dimer's gap is studied. numerical results show that acts as an antenna, making energy transfer from excited to more efficient, and lowpass filter for radiation far field. Moreover, enhancement factor much higher than solid Au in longer-wavelength regime.

The long-term toxicity effects of gold nanoparticles (GNPs) on the proliferation and differentiation a progenitor cell line, MG63 osteoblast-like cells, was investigated. These cells were treated for 20 hours with two media that contained 10 nm GNPs at concentrations 1 ppm ppm. mitosis GNP-treated observed after least 21 using dark-field fluorescence microscopy. TEM, LSCM hyperspectral images indicated late endosomes in aggregated caused by vesicle fusion. Subsequently, days being cultured...

The specific properties of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) make them a novel class photothermal agents that can induce cancer cell damage and even death through the conversion optical energy to thermal energy. Most relevant studies have focused on increasing precision targeting, improving efficacy transfer, exploring additional functions. Nevertheless, most cells uptake nanosized particles nonspecific endocytosis; therefore, before hyperthermia via AuNPs be applied for clinical use, it is...

Combining the scattered light of gold nanoparticles (GNPs) and fluorescence dye molecules, a compound cellular imaging laser scanning confocal microscopy (LSCM) is obtained. The human breast cancer cell line (MDA-MB-435S, BCRC 60429) used for experiment. These cells are incubated with glucose medium containing GNPs 26 hours, then stained by Prodium Iodide (PI) their nuclei. By using single to illuminate these adjusting ranges two bandpass filters detection, from PI can be induced...

This study theoretically investigates the wavelength-dependent longitudinal polarizability of a gold nanorod (GNR) irradiated by polarized laser beam. The resultant optical torque in terms Maxwell stress tensor was analyzed quantitatively using multiple multipole method. Our results indicate that real part GNR can be either positive or negative, leading to parallel perpendicular modes, respectively. For and long axis is rotated align perpendicular, respectively, polarization direction...

This study investigates the radiobiological effects of gold nanoparticles (GNPs) as radiosensitizers for proton beam therapy (PBT). Specifically, we explore enhanced production reactive oxygen species (ROS) in GNP-loaded tumor cells irradiated by a 230 MeV spread-out Bragg peak (SOBP) zone obtained passive scattering system. Our findings indicate that radiosensitization enhancement factor is 1.24 at 30% cell survival fraction, 8 days after 6 Gy irradiation. Since protons deposit majority...

In this study, we demonstrate that the uptake rate of surface-modified gold nanoparticles (GNPs) with folic acid by specific cells can be increased significantly, if membranes these have sufficient folic-acid receptors. Two human breast cancer cell lines were studied; one is MDA-MB-435S cell, and other T-47D cell. The expression receptors former much higher than latter. These incubated media containing bare GNPs or conjugated individually. Due to unique optical behavior (i.e. surface plasmon...

The wavelength-dependent optical torques provided by a circularly polarized (CP) plane wave driving Au nanorod (NR) and nanowire (NW) to rotate constantly were studied theoretically. Using the multiple multipole method, resultant torque in terms of Maxwell's stress tensor was analyzed. Numerical results show that spectrum is accordance with absorption NR/NW. Under same fluence, maximum occurs at longitudinal surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) NR/NW, accompanied severe plasmonic heating....
