The genus Eremanthus (Asteraceae) covers mostly arboreal species, popularly known as “candeia”. Three of these E. erythropappus, incanus and glomerulatus, are endemic to extensively distributed in Brazil. “Candeias” commercial interest due the good quality their wood and, mainly, essential oils, used for various therapeutic purposes.
