Multicultural, feminist, and social justice counseling theories are often viewed as disparate helping models. This article examines the complementary nature of these models discusses need to promote a clearer understanding ways in which common threads can be used practice.
The unification of liberation psychology and humanistic values can provide counselors with a powerful tool for promoting social justice in counseling. This article explores the ceremony's background, elements of spirituality, origin story, cultural symbolism, prayer, contemporary use. Abstract This article presents the Skilled Group Counseling Training Model (SGCTM). The purpose of this study was to investigate the role personality traits counselors-in-training with regard counseling performance. There were no differences in pretest or posttest scores on Skilled Counseling Scale (SCS) high and low self-monitoring counselors-in-training. Skill attainment may have more effect than skill attainment. Both Interpersonal Process Recall (IPR) Counselor Training Model (SCTM) groups improved their SCS, but SCTM group significantly IPR group.

The authors discuss effective rite of passage (ROP) programs as strength‐based, culturally relevant interventions for African American male adolescents.
