The transcription factor ELONGATED HYPOCOTYL5 (HY5) plays critical roles in plant photomorphogenesis. Previous studies on HY5 have mainly focused the seedling stage Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana), and its functions other species not been well characterized, particularly at adult stages of development. In this report, we investigated tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) (SlHY5) from seedlings to plants with a focus fruits. Genome-edited slhy5 mutants exhibited typical compromised...

Tulipa gesneriana has rich cultivars with abundant flower colors; among them, black tulips have become precious for their rareness in nature. It is of great significance to understand its color formation mechanism breeding new a blackish the future. In this present study, petals at five developmental stages ‘Queen Night’ (shorted ‘QN’), typical tulip cultivar, were collected identity flavonoid composition and compare accumulation along development process, aiming explore metabolic...

Flower color is one of the most important ornamental traits tulips (Tulipa gesneriana). Five typical tulip cultivars were selected to identify flavonoid components and analyze their key gene expression in tepals. Firstly, after preliminary determination pigment type, flavonoids identified by UPLC-Q-TOF-MS. A total 17 anthoxanthins detected five cultivars. The anthoxanthin content white red showed a similar decreasing trend, while an increasing trend was observed black tulip. Similarly, 13...
