In this paper, we present some new results on a frequency weighted balanced truncation technique based well-known partial-fraction-expansion idea. The reduced order models which are guaranteed to be stable in case of double-sided weighting obtained by direct truncation. Two sets simple, elegant and easily computable priori error bounds also derived. Relationships between the proposed method previous methods partial-fraction idea is illustrated using numerical example practical application...
The potential for the Terengganu region to implement renewable energy is evaluated. This study evaluates feasibility of a photovoltaic-wind hybrid system in using simulation-based method investigate optimum design that could be used as well with estimation life-cycle cost.To simulate this operation, software tool namely HOMER used. The research divided into 3 stages; data collection, simulation and analysis stages.Data collection involves collecting sorting average solar radiation, wind speed...
This article presented a survey data on the lecturers' perception online teaching during COVID-19 outbreak. The study adopted quantitative approach with an open-ended questionnaire to establish readiness and their emotional presence in adopting 100% from home. The consists of two sections, qualitative. As for section, comprised demographic characteristics research respondents qualitative section consisted staff feedback. The inclusive 180 academic Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, was analysed...
In order to encourage the eco-friendly technologies in transportation sector, reliance on fuel need be reduced and use of renewable energy (RE) technology as source are widely explored by researchers. Thus, this study focus feasibility developing grid-connected electric boat charging station for fishermen Terengganu using simulation-based method HOMER software. Five year solar radiation wind speed data were collected at Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UNISZA) weather station. For load...
This comment explains why the passivity preserving frequency weighted model reduction technique of Heydari and Pedram is guaranteed to yield neither passive nor stable models in case double-sided weighting. It further shown for this method that can be preserved single-sided weighting only. An example presented show their may non-passive original systems
In encouraging green technology in transportation sector and reducing the reliance on subsidy given by government fisheries sector, this study is proposed to evaluate feasibility of developing grid-connected renewable energy electric boat charging station Kuala Terengganu using simulation-based method. Data collection was done selected area get solar radiation wind speed data. Interview conducted know about fishing activities amount received fishermen. The optimal configuration system...
In this paper, a new frequency weighted balanced truncation based on Lin and Chiu's technique [1] is presented. The method proposed modification to Sreeram Sahlan's [2] by using the relationship between intermediate reduced order model final model. A numerical example comparison with other well-known techniques shows that significant approximation error reduction can be achieved improvement.
This paper presents passivity-preserving frequency-weighted model order reduction (MOR) techniques for general large-scale RLC systems. Three (Enns', Wang's and Lin Chiu's) which preserve only stability not passivity are generalized to include in this paper. Conditions under the is preserved also derived. Simulation results presented show effectiveness of proposed generalization.
This study evaluates the feasibility of developing grid-photovoltaic electric boat charging station in Kuala Terengganu using simulation-based method. The main focus is on reducing dependency subsidy spent by government fisheries sector and encouraging green technology commercial sector. All data such as solar radiation, amount received fishermen, fishing activities were collected for selected area. Economic analyses proposed system are discussed based payback period net present cost (NPC)....
In this paper, a new frequency-weighted positive real balanced truncation technique is presented by using combination of model reduction with the real-truncated realization (PR-TBR). The proposed yields passive reduced-order for given high order single-sided weighting only. simulation results are shown an example problem RLC ladder network.
Renewable energy technology is growing fast especially photovoltaic (PV) system to move the conventional electricity generation and distribution towards smart grid. However, similar monthly bill, PV producers can only monitor their once a month. Any malfuntion in components may reduce performance of without notice. Thus, developing real-time monitoring production very crucial for early detection. In addition, consumption also important be monitored more frequently increase savings awareness...
Malaysia has started encouraging renewable energy technology in 7th Plan. However, inadequate power distribution the island makes diesel generator important sources which cause pollution. Some initiatives have been made by installing wind turbine and solar panel to reduce dependency on generator. The hybrid PV/wind system is a good combination as radiation high during Southeast Monsoon, strong Northeast Monsoon. Since speed wave height tie, windy season, can go up two meters. feasibility of...
This article extends the conference paper 'Simulation-based method to evaluate PV/wind hybrid renewable energy system in Terengganu'.Instead of off-grid considered version, inspired by feed-in-tariff introduced The Government Malaysia, this includes grid-connected examine their feasibility be used as power supply for a household Terengganu. In addition, compares performance grid-only and grid-renewable systems terms cost electricity emission pollutant. The payback period is also examined based...
Battery Monitoring System (BMoS) is an electronic system that monitors rechargeable battery cells or packs with various parameters, such as voltage, current and State-of-Charge (SoC). This can be used to avoid overcharging over-discharging of batteries increase its shelf life. However, BMoS on the market very expensive not suitable for low cost embedded systems. As Arduino Uno widely microcontroller boards, easy programming environment, open-source platforms building projects, therefore,...

The main course learning outcome in the Sensors and Transducers subject is ability of students to present sensing mechanism for some specific sensors. This principle physical or chemical nature cannot be seen with bare eyes. Different teaching techniques have been used; however, all did not favour kinaesthetic domain. Hence, an interactive tool has proposed motivate more participate class increase their understanding. was Arduino board, which connected five different sensors: water level...
An investigation has been conducted to analyse the performance of a grid-connected photovoltaic system (GCPV) based on net energy metering (NEM) scheme.Several analyses similar have performed in literature assumptions and simulations. However, concept actual NEM data Malaysia not fully considered.Hence, this study real GCPV from field monitoring PV production, as well import export energy, collected at residential house participating 2.0.From data, economic parameters were calculated compared...
In this paper, we present an improvement to frequency weighted balanced truncation technique based on well-known partial fraction expansion. The method yields stable reduced-order model for double-sided weightings. A numerical example and comparison with other techniques shows that a significant approximation error reduction can be achieved using improvement.
<p>This study presents the power quality issue mainly focus effect of total harmonic distortion (THD) on a grid-connected PV system. Firstly, system with single-phase single-stage has been developed to monitor output values voltage and current also its behaviours. Maximum point tracking (MPPT) was implemented since it is proven as first step for THD reduction because MPPT will extract maximum power, voltage, without fluctuation which leads low level. Furthermore, employment good filter...
