This study reports on L-carnosine phytosomes as an alternative for the prodrug N-acetyl-L-carnosine a novel delivery system to lens. was loaded into lipid-based and hyaluronic acid (HA)-dispersed phytosomes. L-carnosine-phospholipid complexes (PC) of different molar ratios, 1:1 1:2, were prepared by solvent evaporation method. These characterized with thermal spectral analyses. PC dispersed in either phosphate buffered saline pH 7.4 or HA (0.1% w/v) form PC1:1, PC1:2, PC1:2 HA, respectively....
Human eye is one of the most accessible organs in body, nonetheless, its physiology and associated precorneal factors such as nasolacrimal drainage, blinking, tear film, turnover, induced lacrimation has significantly decreased residence time any foreign substances including pharmaceutical dosage forms. Soft contact lenses are promising delivery devices that can sustain drug release prolong by acting a geometric barrier to diffusion fluid. This study investigates experimental parameters...
Nanoemulsions (NE) are isotropic, dispersions of oil, water, surfactant(s) and cosurfactant(s). A range components (11 surfactants, nine cosurfactants, five oils) were investigated as potential excipients for preparation ketorolac tromethamine (KT) ocular nanoemulsion. Diol cosurfactants the effect their carbon chain length dielectric constant (DEC), Log P, HLB on saturation solubility KT. Hen’s Egg Test—ChorioAllantoic Membrane (HET-CAM) assay was used to evaluate conjunctival irritation...
Thermosensitive in situ gels have been around for decades but only a few translated into ophthalmic pharmaceuticals. The aim of this study was to combine the thermo-gelling polymer poloxamer 407 and mucoadhesive polymers chitosan (CS) methyl cellulose (MC) developing effective long-acting delivery systems L-carnosine (a natural dipeptide drug) corneal wound healing. The effect different combinations on parameters like gelation time temperature, rheological properties, texture, spreading...
Gefitinib is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that intended for oral administration yet suffers poor bioavailability along with undesirable side effects. To enhance its solubility and allow colon targeting, gefitinib (ZD) blends of different ratios polymers (ternary dispersion) were prepared in organic solution, solid dispersions generated employing the spray drying (SD) technique. The methylmethacrylate polymer Eudragit S 100 was incorporated targeting; polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) hydroxypropyl...
