Topological insulators (TIs) are of particular interest in the recent solid‐state research because their exceptional features stemming from conducting, topologically protected surface states. The exotic properties include occurrence novel quantum phenomena and make them promising materials for spintronics computing applications. Theoretical studies have provided a vast amount valuable predictions proposals, whose experimental observation implementation, to date, often hindered by an...

Relying on the magnetism induced by proximity effect in heterostructures of topological insulators and magnetic is one promising routes to achieve quantum anomalous Hall effect. Here, we investigate Bi2Te3 Fe3O4. By growing two different types molecular beam epitaxy, Fe3O4 Fe3O4, explore differences chemical stability, crystalline quality, electronic structure, transport properties. We find heterostructure be a more viable approach, with signatures agreement gap opening surface states.

Orientation dependent hard x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy can make direct images of the orbitals making up band structure. The imaging provides energy specific information in real-space and is calculation-free.
