Lignin derivative vanillin when coupled with diamines and diethyl phosphite followed by reaction echichlorohydrin yields high-performance flame retardant epoxy resins. Biorenewable environment-friendly alternatives to bisphenol A resins (having plenty of applications such as coatings, adhesives, composites, etc.) have captured great attention due their ecological economic necessity. Vanillin, an industrial scale monoaromatic compound from lignin, is a promising sustainable candidate for...

Understanding the mechanism of ice adhesion on surfaces is crucial for anti-icing surfaces, and it not clear if superhydrophobic could reduce adhesion. Here, we investigate model with different wettabilities. The results show that surface cannot adhesion, strength superhydrophilic one almost same. This can be rationalized by mechanical interlocking between texture. Moreover, find increases linearly area fraction air in contact liquid.

A facile and robust strategy for fabricating superhydrophobic polymer/carbon nanotube hybrid membranes via covalent attachment of hydrophobic polymer, such as polystyrene onto carbon membrane is proposed. The as-prepared can selectively remove a wide range organic solvents from water with high absorption capacity good recyclability. Moreover, the obtained shows excellent separation properties surfactant-stabilized in oil emulsions efficiency 99.94% flux (5000 L m−2 h−1 bar−1). Therefore,...

Medical dressings, as a cover for wounds, can replace damaged skin in the wound healing process to play temporary barrier role, avoid or control infection, and provide favorable environment healing. Therefore, there is an urgent need medical antimicrobial dressings treatment of chronic wounds. Although traditional polyurethane foam has been widely used conventional foams are primarily prepared using nonbiocompatible isocyanate-based compounds, which potentially hazardous both operators...

Hierarchical Cu doped vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) flowers were prepared via a simple hydrothermal approach followed by an annealing process. The flower precursors are self-assembled with 1D nanobelts surrounding central core. morphological evolution is investigated and plausible mechanism proposed. As the cathode material for lithium ion batteries, V2O5 samples exhibit improved electrochemical performance compared to un-doped ones. Among them Cu0.02V1.98O5 delivered higher reversible specific...
