The model of variable range hopping conductivity predicts a crossover between Mott and Efros-Shklovskii as function temperature density states. This is observed using monodispersed CdSe colloidal quantum dot 3D solids where the states at Fermi level varied by electrochemistry. At low states, both below lowest state (<0.4e−/dot) in gap first second (2e−/dot), dependence shows 1/4 exponent hopping. other fillings up to 6e−/dot, 1/2 non-Ohmic also found be explained quantitatively model.

Droplet-based microreactors often uncover fascinating phenomena and exhibit diverse functionality, which make them applicable in various fields. Liquid marbles (LMs) are non-wetting droplets coated with particles, these features highlight their potential as microreactors. However, sophisticated experimental designs typically hindered because it is difficult to obtain sufficient substance mixing miniature, damage-prone, self-supporting liquid containers. Here, we demonstrate that subjecting...

Using electrochemical charge injection, the fluorescence lifetimes of negatively charged core/shell CdTe/CdSe QDs are measured as a function core size and shell thickness. It is found that ensemble negative trion reach maximum (∼4.5 ns) for an intermediate This leads to smallest particles nm) with brightest date. Single dot measurements show suppresses blinking can be bright exciton at room temperature. In contrast, biexciton remain short exhibit only monotonous increase thickness, showing...

Abstract It was found that mesoporous graphite carbon nitride (mpg-C3N4) prepared using melamine as the precursor and ammonium chloride bubble template, has good photocatalytic activity under visible light irradiation. In order to improve performance of mpg-C3N4, it combined with metal-organic framework ZIF-8. Taking tetracycline hydrochloride (TC) solution a model pollutant, composites studied select optimal composite ratio pH value. The initial concentration hydrogen peroxide active...

Open fluidics, allowing liquid in a flow channel to interact with the external environment, is revolutionary concept. However, fabricating highly stable open fluidic device of arbitrary complexity, while maintaining reconfigurability, still challenge. This achieved by use patterned substrate and liquids that are covered functional, readily available hydrophobic particles, providing great flexibility construction structures. Decorated coating modified carbon nanotubes (CNTs) encapsulate...

Thermal deflection spectroscopy allows to measure very small absorption and uncovers tails extending well below the bulk bandgap energy for CdSe quantum dots films after ligand exchange by sulfide. In this monodispersed system, redshift, broadening, cannot be solely attributed electronic coupling between dots. Instead, mixing of hole states from dot surface is proposed dominate changes interband spectra at edge.

Two novel helical compounds based on polyoxovanadates, [Co(H2O)2V2O6] (1) and [Co(bimb)V2O6] (2) (bimb =1,3-bis(1-imidazoly)benzene), have been synthesized under identical hydrothermal conditions, providing two structurally different motifs due to introduction of a V-shaped bimb ligand in 2. Compound 1 possesses pair entanglement double helixes 3D inorganic framework, whereas compound 2 shows single entangled helix inorganic–organic network owing the influences steric hindrance ligands as...

Millifluidics, the manipulation of liquid flow in millimeter-sized channels, has been a revolutionary concept chemical processing and engineering. The solid channels that contain liquids, though, are not flexible their design modification, prevent contact with external environment. All-liquid constructs, on other hand, while open, imbedded Here, we provide route to circumvent these limitations by encasing liquids hydrophobic powder air jams surface, containing isolating flowing fluids,...

Abstract The potential of an aquatic plant, Hydrilla verticillata, to remove two basic dyes, methylene blue and blue, from aqueous solutions was assessed under various experimental conditions. Results showed that dried able the dyes efficiently rapidly. Its breakthrough time flow conditions could be predicted using Hutchin's bed depth‐service (BDST) model. As is readily available, it represent a cheap source biosorbent for dyes.
