An unusual form of superconducting transition has been observed in some the compounds ${\mathit{L}}_{2\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}\mathit{x}}$${\mathit{M}}_{\mathit{x}}$${\mathrm{CuO}}_{4\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}\mathit{y}}$ (L=Pr,Nd,Sm,Eu; M=Ce,Th) under low magnetic fields. When temperature is reduced below critical one, sample's resistance first increases, then drops to a nonzero value, increases again, and finally decreases at temperature, creating characteristic double-peak transition. The...

Abstract This article aims at clarifying the situation about astrophysical sources that might be observed with haloscope experiments sensitive to gravitational waves in 1–10 GHz band. The GrAHal setup is taken as a benchmark. We follow very pedagogical path so full analysis can easily used by entire community who not familiar theoretical framework. Different relevant physical regimes are considered details and some approximations encountered literature questioned. In particular, we carefully...

Heavily boron doped diamond epilayers with thicknesses ranging from 40 to less than 2 nm and buried between nominally undoped thicker layers have been grown in two different reactors. Two types of [100]-oriented single crystal substrates were used after being characterized by X-ray white beam topography. The chemical composition thickness these so-called delta-doped structures studied secondary ion mass spectrometry, transmission electron microscopy, spectroscopic ellipsometry....

In this note we report on the development plans and first results of Grenoble Axion Haloscope (GrAHal) project. It is aimed at developing a haloscope platform dedicated to search for axion dark matter particles. We discuss its general framework reach sensitivity required probe well known invisible models, over particularly relevant masses coupling regions. also present our prototype result test run liquid He temperature, setting new exclusion limit $g_{a \gamma \gamma} \leq 2.2 \times...

A collaboration between CNRS-Grenoble and IBS-CAPP Daejeon plans to build a Sikivie’s type haloscope for axion/ALPs dark matter search at the Dine-Fischler-Srednicki-Zhitnitskii sensitivity 300–600 MHz range. It will be based on large-bore superconducting “outsert” coil of Grenoble hybrid magnet, providing central magnetic field up 9 T in an 810-mm warm bore diameter. This magnet has recently been successfully powered 8.5 T, achieving first step electrical commissioning phase. The design...

It is shown that a metallic state can be induced on the surface of SrTiO3 crystals by electron beam evaporation oxygen deficient alumina or insulating granular aluminium. No special preparation nor heating needed. Final states obtained depending pressure during process. Photoconductivity and electrical field effect are also demonstrated.

Memory is one of the unique qualities a glassy system. The relaxation glass to equilibrium contains information on sample's excitation history, an effect often refer as ``aging.'' We demonstrate that under right conditions can also possess different type memory. study conductance electron glasses are fabricated at low temperatures. Remarkably, dynamics found depend not only ambient measurement temperature but maximum which system was exposed. Hence ``remembers'' its highest temperature. This...

It is shown that the conductance relaxations observed in electrical field effect measurements on granular Al films are sum of two contributions. One sensitive to gate voltage changes and gives already reported anomalous effect. The other one independent history starts when cooled down low temperature. Their relative amplitude strongly thickness-dependent which demonstrates existence a finite screening length our insulating allows its quantitative estimate (about 10 nm at 4 K). This...

We revisit the field effect procedure used to characterize slow dynamics of glassy Anderson insulators. It is shown that in slowest systems, fails and ``characteristic'' time values extracted are not intrinsic but rather determined by experimental itself. In other cases (like lightly doped indium oxide) qualitative indications about might be obtained; however, times cannot seen as characteristic relaxation system any simple manner, more complete experiments necessary. They exhibit a symmetrical field effect anomaly and slow relaxation the conductance after samples put out equilibrium by abruptly changing temperature or gate voltage. The results identical to ones reported in InOx films, suggesting that these phenomena quite general disordered insulators. study systems may help elucidate origin glassy behaviour.
