ABSTRACT A general mathematical model in the same form with logistic equation simulated lipid oxidation food systems. Almost perfect agreement was found between and seventeen sets of data from literature, obtained egg yolk, restructured beef pork nuggets, cooked meat, iced gutted dogfish, frozen mackerel fillets ground raw poultry meat. simple method described for evaluation numerical values parameters. Variations these were also associated varying pretreatment storage conditions.

Neuro-glial interactions are important for normal functioning of the brain as well energy metabolism. There two major working models - in classical view, both neurons and astrocytes can utilize glucose source through oxidative metabolism, whereas astrocyte-neuron lactate shuttle hypothesis (ANLSH) it is astrocyte which consume anaerobic glycolysis to pyruvate then lactate, this secreted extracellular space be taken up by neuron further degradation. In computational study, we have included...

The book offers an interesting insight into the application of these principles to inquiries involving biological and agricultural systems. Indeed, as preface indicates, text has been used for (primarily) mixed graduate students from mechanical engineering, chemical biomedical food medicine, genetics, biotechnology. is comprised five chapters includes a CD that contains several MATLAB examples are discussed in text. With first three establishing overview thermodynamics its both inorganic...

Abstract Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2) is the virus causing COVID‐19 disease. Data regarding morphological properties of this are collected from literature and then energy stored in each structural element calculated with Domalski Hearing's group contribution method. Viruses, including Corona viruses, derive all their host cell carry out activities energy. SARS‐CoV‐2 construct a vehicle needed for delivery its mRNA to other hosts inflict them Upon transfer...

Understanding aging is a key biological goal. Precision gerontology aims to predict how long individuals will live under different treatment scenarios. Calorie and protein restriction (CR PR) extend lifespan in many species. Using data from C57BL/6 male mice graded CR or PR, we introduce computational thermodynamic model for entropy generation, which predicted the impact of manipulations on lifespan. Daily generation decreased significantly with increasing level, but not PR. Our predictions...

Mortality rate of the crush victims in Marmara earthquake August 1999 was compared with conclusions arrived after making thermodynamic assessment data acquired previous earthquakes. Entropic age concept found very helpful while assessing data. group 0-9 years old 0 because basal metabolic (BMR) these children low. ABSTRACT The gravitational force (g‐force) of the Earth is referred to as 1G. When pilots, astronauts, and race car drivers get under effect higher G‐forces, their blood accumulates in lower parts bodies, although heart rates increase, cardiovascular systems supply less brains lungs. insufficient oxygenation brain causes loss consciousness, incapacitated pilots or may cause accidents resulting serious injury death. Pilots receive high‐G training prevent gravity‐induced consciousness (G‐LOC)....

Abstract The use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) spectroscopy as a real time probe to noninvasively obtain transient moisture profiles during food dehydration is demonstrated. A laboratory‐scale wind tunnel drier was constructed. 2 × 5 cm 3 apple slab inserted in the probative zone and one‐dimensional drying effected at quasiisothermal conditions. Spatial resolution 0.60 mm obtained. were simulated with simple mass transfer model. Effective diffusivity water calculated 8.3 10 −5 /s.
