Two cucumber ( Cucumis sativus ) cultivars differing in their resistance to powdery mildew, Ningfeng No. 3 (susceptible) and Jinchun 4 (resistant), were used study the effects of foliar‐ root‐applied silicon on infection by Podosphaera xanthii (syn. Sphaerotheca fuliginea production pathogenesis‐related proteins (PRs). The results indicated that inoculation with P. significantly suppressed subsequent mildew compared noninoculation, regardless Si application. Root‐applied disease index being...
Abstract Here we report for the first time that bacterial blight of rice can be alleviated by silicon (Si) added. In both inoculated and uninoculated plants, shoot dry weight was significantly higher in +Si plants than −Si plants. A soil-cultured trial showed disease severity 24.3% lower Si-amended non-Si-amended Plants were switched from to nutrient solution simultaneously with Xoo also exhibited same high resistance as treated continuously Si, control efficiencies 52.8 62.9%, respectively....
Calycosin, an isoflavonoid phytoestrogen, isolated from Radix Astragali, was reported to possess anti-tumor, anti-inflammation, and osteogenic properties, but its impact on osteoclast differentiation remains unclear. In this study, we examined the effects of calycosin osteoclastogenesis induced by RANKL. The results showed that significantly inhibited RANKL-induced formation primary bone marrow macrophages (BMMs). Calycosin also dose-dependently suppressed resorption pits mature osteoclasts....
Apoptosis is a form of cell death that involves the changes mitochondrial function and regulated activation caspase cascades, which selectively cleave cytoskeleton proteins catalyze organelles morphological structure. The function, structure, degradation are considered to be responsible for development meat qualities. LM, semitendinosus, psoas minor (PM) muscles 5 crossbred bulls were used observe morphologic quantitative apoptosis, as well change caspase-3 activity during 7 d storage....
Maqui berry (Aristotelia chilensis) is an edible berry. The study aimed to explore the therapeutic effect of maqui on inflammatory bowel disease. water extract was separated by multiple solvents extraction. chemical bases, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties different fractions were then compared. Dextran sodium sulfate (DSS)-induced ulcerative colitis mice used for pharmacological activity test in vivo. Experimental results showed that ethyl acetate fraction (MWE) rich phenols...
Avian influenza A viruses are serious veterinary pathogens that normally circulate among avian populations, causing substantial economic impacts. Some strains of viruses, such as H5N1, H9N2, and recently reported H7N9, have been occasionally found to adapt humans from other species. In order replicate efficiently in the new host, interact with a variety host factors. present study, H7N9 nucleoprotein was transfected into human HEK293T cells, followed by immunoprecipitated analyzed proteomics...
