Poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)-block-poly(acrylic acid), PNIPAAm-b-PAA, with low polydispersity was prepared by reversible addition−fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization in methanol. The block copolymers respond to both temperature and pH stimuli. behavior of the double-responsive solution investigated dynamic light scattering, temperature-sweep NMR, cryogenic transmission electron microscopy, IR spectroscopy. form micelles aqueous solutions dependence temperature. Panchromatic ternary polymer dots (Pdots) consisting of two conjugated polymers (PFBT and PFODTBT) based on fluorene benzothiadiazole groups, one small molecular acceptor (ITIC) have been prepared assessed for photocatalytic hydrogen production with the assistance a Pt cocatalyst. Femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopic studies Pdots revealed both energy charge transfer processes that occur time scale sub-picosecond between different components. They result in photogenerated electrons...

The nucleotide sequence of 23S rDNA from Zeamays chloroplasts has been determined. Alignment with E.coli reveals 71 percent homology when maize 4.5S is included as an equivalent the 31 end rDNA. Among conserved sequences are sites for base modification, chloramphenicol sensitivity and ribosomal subunit interaction. A proposal pairs formed between 16S rRNAs during 3OS/5OS interaction presented. alignment that three small insertion 25/65 78 pairs, whereas shows only deletions compared species.

The number of antibiotic-resistant bacteria is increasing worldwide, and the demand for novel antimicrobials constantly growing. Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) could be an important part future treatment strategies various bacterial infection diseases. However, AMPs have relatively low stability, because proteolytic chemical degradation. As a consequence, carrier systems protecting are greatly needed, to achieve efficient treatments. In addition, system also must administrate peptide in...

Phospholipid vesicles (liposomes) as membrane models have been used to study the penetration properties of peptide nucleic acid (PNA), a new DNA analog in which nucleobases are attached pseudo-peptide backbone. The liposomes were characterised by carboxyfluorescein efflux, light-scattering and cryogenic transmission electron microscopy. liposome structure was found not be affected incorporation PNA or an oligonucleotide. Two 10-mer fluorescein-labelled PNAs low efflux rates (half-times 5.5...
