Although Pakistan has rich biodiversity, many groups are poorly known, particularly insects. To address this gap, we employed DNA barcoding to survey its insect diversity. Specimens obtained through diverse collecting methods at 1,858 sites across from 2010-2019 were examined for sequence variation in the 658 bp barcode region of cytochrome c oxidase 1 (COI) gene. Sequences nearly 49,000 specimens assigned 6,590 Barcode Index Numbers (BINs), a proxy species, and most (88%) also possessed...
Abstract Pakistan is the country with mega freshwater fish diversity of native and alien species. In presence enormous fishes varies species exotic have been introduced into bodies which are competing fauna making them deprive food habitat as well. Intentional or accidental introductions animals, plants pathogens away from their niche considered major leading problem for biodiversity invaded habitat. Three years study (from January 2017 to December 2019) was conducted in Province Punjab,...
Abstract Among the three main divergent lineages of gray wolf (Canis lupus), Holarctic lineage is most widespread and best studied, particularly in North America Europe. Less known about Tibetan (also called Himalayan) Indian southern Asia, especially areas surrounding Pakistan where all are thought to meet. Given endangered status neighboring India unclear southwestern boundary range, we conducted mitochondrial genome-wide sequencing wolves from Kyrgyzstan. Sequences D-loop region 81...
The WRINKLED1 (WRI1) transcription factor controls carbon flow in plants through regulating the expression of glycolysis and fatty acid biosynthesis genes. role Gossypium hirsutum (GhWRI1) seed-oil accumulation still needs to be explored. Multiple sequence alignment WRI1 proteins confirmed presence two conserved AP2 domains. amino GhWRI1 exhibited 62% homology with AtWRI1 phylogenetic analysis showed that originated from common ancestors. Comparison three dimensional structures indicated an...
