To determine the relationship between diabetic retinopathy (DR) and peripheral neuropathy (DPN), their associated risk factors.
We report a case of coexisting proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR) and macular telangiectasia (MacTel) with neovascularization type 3. A 50-year-old patient presented decrease in the RE vision. Her presenting vision was 20/80 LE 20/30. She diagnosed both eye PDR features MacTel eyes such as right-angled vein pigment migration. On fundus examination, there presence atypical large PEDs RE, which warranted multimodal imaging. SDOCT revealed trapezoid serous PED along erosion sign...
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical profile, visual, anatomical and survival outcome patients with endogenous endophthalmitis. Methods: Retrospective chart review consecutive cases endophthalmitis presenting from 2009-2016. Results: In our study, 41 eyes 34 were included. Most common co-morbidity associated was Diabetes Mellitus (70.7%) most infective foci UTI (73.2%). Among culture positive cases, fungi bacteria evenly distributed, 76.93% Gram 23.07% negative....
Purpose: To study the incidence and risk factors of raised intraocular pressures (IOPs) in follow-up transconjunctival sutureless vitrectomy (TSV). Methods: A retrospective observational was performed on 635 patients who underwent TSV under a single surgeon. The IOPs were recorded using calibrated non-contact tonometer at seven postoperative visits, viz., day 1, 7 3, 6 months, 1 month following silicone oil removal. Results: IOP rise seen 24.25% (154) out eyes studied. Among 50 years age,...
The family of Tre2-Bub2-Cdc16 (TBC)-domain containing GTPase activating proteins (RABGAPs) is not only known as key regulatorof RAB activity but also has GAP-independent functions. Rab GTPases are implicated in membrane trafficking pathways, such vesicular trafficking. We report biallelic loss-of-function variants TBC1D2B, encoding a member the TBC/RABGAP with yet unknown function, underlying cause cognitive impairment, seizures, and/or gingival overgrowth three individuals from unrelated...
The study aimed to evaluate comparability in terms of efficacy, safety and immunogenicity Sun's ranibizumab biosimilar with reference patients neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD). This prospective, randomised, double-blind, two-group, parallel-arm, multicentre, phase 3 comparative included nAMD ≥ 50 years, randomised (in a 2:1 ratio) double-blind manner receive 0.5 mg (0.05 mL) intravitreal injection either or the eye every 4 weeks until week 16 (total four doses). Introduction: Subglottic stenosis is a condition leading to narrowing of subglottal space due intubation, inflammation, tracheostomy, trauma, and idiopathic conditions.Respiratory effort the patient increases this narrowing. The effect also perceived in speech production as effortful exhalation, unnatural pause shallow breathing, muscle tension.Surgical treatment including cricoplasty tracheal anastomosis can improve respiratory function but adversely affect voice production, especially adult...
Purpose: Identification of nonresponders prior to anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) therapy would help in the judicious clinical management diabetic macular edema (DME) patients. Thus, a systematic study was initiated identify nonresponding DME patient population undergoing ranibizumab treatment figure out additional inflammatory components that may contribute their nonresponsiveness anti-VEGF therapy. Methods: A total 40 patients recruited this investigator-initiated trial...
The present article reviews various evolutionary events that resulted in skin color variation among humans. Skin of the early man is presumed to be colorless as chimpanzees. During course evolution, hairless state with sweat glands would have occurred for purpose thermoregulation. Thermoregulation was very important brain development and function. In due course, pigmentation naked order offer photo-protection. physiological demand vitamin D 3 folate human system effect sun-light...

Objective: To document process pilot for questionnaire-based regarding perception undergraduate towards on-going classes. Methods: Medical Education Department teaching hospital...
Abstract GM2 Gangliosidoses are a group of autosomal recessive genetic disorders caused by intra-lysosomal deposition ganglioside mainly in the neuronal cells. GM2-Activator protein deficiency is an extremely rare type gangliosidosis (AB variant) mutation GM2A.We report case female child who presented with clinical features similar to classical Tay-Sachs disease, but normal beta hexosaminidase enzyme levels. Molecular study revealed novel homozygous intronic which confirmed diagnosis...
Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a vasoproliferative disease that affects premature infants. ROP on rise in India as result the improved neonatal care and better survival rate. Identifying screening at-risk infants performed by an experienced ophthalmologist remains most important strategy management ROP. In developing countries, introduction Retcam-assisted enables follow-up rural population where may not be available. Currently, laser photocoagulation avascular retina has replaced...
Medical education is going through a new learning experience of its own due to the impossibility physical classes in present pandemic situation. This article describes detail conceptualization and development questionnaire for specific purpose studying perception undergraduate students medical college toward online program.
Our primary aim was to evaluate intraocular cytokines (IC) before and after dexamethasone in diabetic macular edema (DME). secondary study the early late effects of single implant DME.This comparative conducted at Department Ophthalmology Centre for Nanosciences a quaternary referral center Kerala, India, from September 2016 2018. Patients underwent complete ophthalmological examination cytokine analysis implant. Levels baseline repeat sample were studied.Twenty-seven eyes (21 patients)...
