Abstract Mikania micrantha and Ipomoea cairica are two invasive plants widely distribute seriously damage in Hainan island. In this study, the leaves extracts of weeds were collected determined for their allelopathic potentials on Chrysanthemum coronarium . The phytotoxicity bioassay showed that when extract concentration was 50 100 mg/ml, inhibited effects M. growth C. greater than by I. However, concertation at 400 opposite observed. We speculated phenomenon caused different compounds....

The estimation of pollen production is widely used in pollination and reproductive ecology, aerobiology pollen-vegetation relationship studies. Pollen release the key step estimating therefore, technique to critical. Three methods, drying method (DM), mechanical (MM) chemical (CM), are determine amount released from anthers. Few studies have compared results obtained each method, making it difficult which most appropriate a given situation. In this study, we existing methods with new that...

Abstract: The Janzen–Connell hypothesis suggests that highly specific pathogens decrease seedling survival close to the parent plant; however, underlying mechanism remains unclear. Here, we tested host specificity of soil germinating seeds Cyclobalanopsis fleuryi and Cryptocarya chinensis in tropical montane rain forest cloud on Hainan, south China. Rhizospheric soils surrounding eight adult trees per species were collected each type divided into five treatments: parent,...
