Based on epidemiological and experimental studies, type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), especially insulin resistance that comprises the core mechanism of T2DM, has been recognized as a significant risk factor for Alzheimer's disease (AD). Studies in humans diabetic AD model mice have indicated correlation between increased amyloid deposition brain. Paradoxically, with targeted disruption genes involved signaling pathway showed protective effects against AD-related pathology. These conflicting...

Insulin signaling has been implicated in the metabolism as well aging and longevity. Type 2 diabetes mellitus its core pathology, insulin resistance, also development of Alzheimer's disease (AD) amyloid-β deposition humans. By contrast, genetic ablation insulin/IGF-1 (IIS) pathway components, e.g. receptor substrate (IRS)-2, documented to suppress accumulation brains transgenic mice overexpressing AD mutant β-amyloid precursor protein (APP). Therefore, brain IIS may be a key modifiable...

The insulin/IGF-1 signaling (IIS) regulates a wide range of biological processes, including aging and lifespan, has also been implicated in the pathogenesis Alzheimer's disease (AD). We others have reported that reduced by genetic ablation molecules involved IIS (e.g., insulin receptor substrate 2 [IRS-2]) markedly mitigates amyloid plaque formation brains mouse models AD, although molecular underpinnings amelioration remain unsolved. Here, we revealed, transcriptomic analysis male murine...
