Soybean seeds contain higher concentrations of oil (triacylglycerol) and fatty acids than do cereal crop seeds, the oxidation these biomolecules during seed storage significantly shortens longevity decreases germination ability. Here, we report that diethyl aminoethyl hexanoate (DA-6), a plant growth regulator, increases seedling establishment from aged soybean by increasing acid metabolism glycometabolism. Phenotypic analysis showed DA-6 treatment markedly promoted naturally artificially...
Developing wheat that acquires and uses phosphorus (P) more efficiently is a promising low-cost solution for increasing grain yield reducing P-related environmental impacts. The present study identified agronomic physiological traits contribute to genetic variation in the P acquisition, remobilization, utilization efficiency of 11 cultivars from southwest China grown P-deficient purple lithomorphic soil (Olsen = 4.7) with balanced (75 kg ha−1) excess (120 supplies. On average, deficiency...
Abstract Basis for the effects of nitrogen (N) on wheat grain storage proteins (GSPs) and establishment processing quality are far from clear. The response GSPs parameters to four N levels common cultivars were investigated at two sites over growing seasons. Except gluten index (GI), as well quantities remarkably improved by increasing level. level explained 4.2~59.2% 10.4~80.0% variability in fractions parameters, respectively. amount remobilized vegetative organs except spike was...
Over the past several decades, a decreasing trend in solar radiation has been observed during wheat growing season. The effects of shade stress on grain yield formation have extensively studied. However, little information stress’s protein warrants further investigation. Two cultivars were grown under three treatments, no as control group (CK), shading from joint to anthesis stage (S1), and mature (S2), investigate free amino acids caryopsis endosperm accumulation filling. dry mass was...
Abstract Investigations of critical physiological traits associated with the genetic yield gain in wheat ( Triticum aestivum ) are essential to determine future crop breeding and management strategies. This study grew 32 cultivars released from 1965 2017 for two cropping seasons (a dry year, 2016–2017, a humid 2017–2018) examine potential achieved through efficiencies canopy light interception, solar energy conversion, harvest index (HI), nitrogen (N) uptake utilization. Yield (25.0 ± 1.8 kg...
Diazotrophs that carry out the biological fixation of atmospheric dinitrogen (N 2 ) replenish biologically available nitrogen (N) in soil and are influenced by input inorganic organic substrates. To date, little is known about effects combined substrate addition N fertilization on diazotroph community composition structure purple soils. We investigated straw mulching communities quantifying sequencing nifH gene wheat rhizosphere. The abundance richness diazotrophs were greater higher level...
The effects of nitrogen (N) accumulation and translocation on photosynthesis have been widely reported, while the impacts N accumulation, translocation, simultaneous improvements in grain yield gluten quality dryland wheat still remain unclear. For this reason, relationships between photosynthesis, use efficiency (NUE), related traits yield, quality, 11 representative genotypes 2018–2021 cropping years were examined. results show that weights per spike accounted for 58.7% 42.4% genetic...
Biostimulants sprayed exogenously boost crop yield and quality. However, the effects of co-application biostimulants fertilizers as base in soil are still uncertain. The objective this study was to investigate overall reducing N levels conjunction with application on formation utilization wheat maize. Therefore, based winter wheat–summer maize rotation system modern R&D Sichuan Agricultural University, enzyme activities, inorganic nitrogen dynamic content, accumulation transportation,...
Oilseed rape (Brassica napus) is a crucial global oil crop. It generally cultivated in rotation with rice southern China’s Yangtze River Basin, where the wet soil and residue retention after harvest significantly hinder its seedling establishment. Hence, this study developed strip-tillage seeder for oilseed seeding following harvest. Additionally, establishment, infiltration evaporation post-seeding, moisture change, yield, weed occurrence under strip tillage (ST) were compared conventional...
Straw mulching and N fertilization are effective in augmenting crop yields. Since their combined effects on wheat rhizosphere bacterial communities remain largely unknown, our aim was to assess how the respond these agricultural measures. We studied microbiomes a split-plot design experiment with maize straw (0 8,000 kg ha
Lack of soil moisture and phosphorus deficiency limits wheat grain yield in dryland areas. However, the moisture-conserving effect straw mulching combined with phosphor fertilization on fertile florets per spike (FFS) remains unclear. During 2020–2021 2021–2022 growing seasons, we investigated effects (0 8000 kg ha−1) (0, 75, 120 P2O5 development, assimilates’ availability, photosynthetic properties flag leaves by conducting a field experiment. Compared no mulch control, increased spike,...
There are Chinese cherry and sweet planted in Zhejiang Province, China. (Prunus pseudocerasus L.) has been for many years. The industry is one of the smallest whole fruit Zhejiang. total acreage 50,000 mu (=3333.3 ha), annual output 13,000 t. But average value mu(-1) which about 20 to 30,000 Yuan reasonably relatively high. researches were concentrated on cultivars selection orchard management. New ‘Zijing’ was selected from a landrace. cultivation time avium much shorter than that province....
