In this work, antibacterial activity of finger citron essential oil (FCEO, Citrus medica L. var. sarcodactylis) and its mechanism against food-borne bacteria were evaluated. A total 28 components in the identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, which limonene (45.36%), γ-terpinene (21.23%), dodecanoic acid (7.52%) three main components. For vitro tests, FCEO exhibited moderately common bacteria: Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis Micrococcus luteus. It...

The increasing incidence of colitis and the side effects its therapeutic drugs have led to search for compounds natural origin, including phenolics, as new treatments colitis. In this study, potential mechanism Dendrobium officinale leaf phenolics (DOP) on relief dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced was explored. results showed that DOP treatment 36 days reduced symptoms caused by DSS, reduction disease activity index alleviation colonic tissue damage. addition, downregulated expression key...

This study explores the structural characterization of six noncovalent polyphenol–starch complexes and their prebiotic activities during in vitro digestion fermentation. Ferulic acid, caffeic gallic isoquercetin, astragalin, hyperin were complexed with sweet potato starch (SPS). The polyphenols exhibited high binding capacity (>70%) SPS. A partial release flavonoids from was observed via digestion, while phenolic acids remained tightly bound. Molecular dynamics (MD) simulation revealed that...

Soybean meal is a class of by-products obtained from the processing soybean products. Despite its high nutritional value, presence glycoside isoflavones limits human use meal. This study evaluated effect solid-state fermentation (SSF) with different edible mushroom mycelia (Pleurotus ostreatus, Hericium erinaceus, and Flammulina velutipes) on proximate composition, antioxidant properties, physicochemical properties fermented powder (SP). The results revealed that SP had higher value when...

In this study, crude polysaccharides of culinary-medicinal mushroom Auricularia auricular-judae were extracted by hot water extraction and alcohol precipitation, their antimicrobial antioxidant activities investigated. An optimum condition was obtained at a ratio liquid to solid 70 mL/g, temperature 90°C, time 4 h number 4. Accordingly, the best yield 6.89% with 76.12% in purity. Some bacteria fungi used for studies. It found that A. auricula-judae had great against Escherichia coli...

Ganoderma lucidum is known as a medicine food homology that can ameliorate gastrointestinal diseases. To evaluate the gastroprotective effects on different polysaccharides (GLPs), GLP was separated into three parts with molecular weights using 100 kDa, 10 and 1 kDa membranes. The mitigation of GLPs ethanol-induced acute gastric injury were observed in rats. After pretreatment GLPs, especially above symptoms mucosal congestion bleeding improved; serum myeloperoxidase, inflammatory factor,...

Abstract BACKGROUND The gut microbiota (GM) is recognized as a significant contributor to the immune system. In present study, effects of Hericium erinaceus polysaccharides (HEP) on immunoregulation and GM in cyclophosphamide (CTX)‐treated mice were investigated elucidate attenuate immunosuppression by modulating GM. RESULTS results revealed that HEP significantly improved body weight organ index immunodeficient ( P < 0.05). They increased operational taxonomic units (OTUs) 0.05),...

ABSTRACT Scope: Gallic acid (GA) is recognized for its purported antiinflammatory properties. GA has been demonstrated to prevent and alleviate the symptoms of chronic colitis through modulation gut microbiota, improvement intestinal barrier, reduction inflammation. Methods results: In order determine mechanism by which exerts protective effect against colitis, mice were induced dextran sulfate sodium (DSS). The in disease activity index 25% decrease colon tissue damage indicated that 36 days...

Until recently, a variety of oligosaccharides from fruits, vegetables and mushrooms have demonstrated positive prebiotic effects. Ganoderma lucidum, well-known traditional medicine tonic in East Asia, has been utilized the prevention treatment broad range illnesses. In this study, each three was obtained polysaccharide extraction by-products sporoderm: unbroken broken spores lucidum (UB-GLS, B-GLS).
