Abstract An analysis of dynamic stall for the S809 aerofoil has been performed in conjunction with Leishman–Beddoes model that was modified wind turbine applications. Numerical predictions lift, drag and pitching moment coefficients were compared measurements obtained an oscillating at various reduced frequencies, mean angles attack angle amplitudes. It found results using good agreement experimental data. Hysteresis aerodynamic captured well, although coefficient slightly underpredicted...

This paper describes the application of a free-vortex wake method (FVM) to predict performance and aerodynamic loads on an upwind wind turbine in unyawed yawed flow. Measurements from Phase VI NREL/NASA Ames tunnel test were used for validating predictions. The FVM predicted well variation thrust power output with speed. Spanwise distributions coefficients (normal force, leading-edge pitching moment) also predicted, encouraging agreement was obtained against measured coefficients. azimuthal...
