Above-ground biomass (AGB) is a basic agronomic parameter for field investigation and frequently used to indicate crop growth status, the effects of agricultural management practices, ability sequester carbon above below ground. The conventional way obtain AGB use destructive sampling methods that require manual harvesting crops, weighing, recording, which makes large-area, long-term measurements challenging time consuming. However, with diversity platforms sensors improvements in spatial...

Abstract Plant height (PH) is a key factor in maize ( Zea mays L.) yield, biomass, and plant architecture. We investigated the PH of diverse inbred lines (117 temperate lines, 135 tropical lines) at four growth stages using unmanned aerial vehicle high-throughput phenotypic platforms (UAV-HTPPs). extracted data an automated pipeline based on crop surface models orthomosaic model. The correlation between UAV manually measured reached 0.95. Under field conditions, grew faster than early...

Phenotyping under field environmental conditions is often considered as a bottleneck in crop breeding. Unmanned aerial vehicle high throughput phenotypic platform (UAV-HTPP) mounted with multi-sensors offers an efficiency, non-invasive, flexible and low-cost solution large-scale breeding programs compared to ground investigation, especially where measurements are time-sensitive. This study was conducted at the research station of Xiao Tangshan National Precision Agriculture Research Center...

The number of rice seedlings in the field is one main agronomic components for determining yield. This counting task, however, still mainly performed using human vision rather than computer and thus cumbersome time-consuming. A fast accurate alternative method acquiring such data may contribute to monitoring efficiency crop management practices, earlier estimations yield, as a phenotyping trait breeding programs. In this paper, we propose an efficient that uses accurately count digital...

Maize (zee mays L.) is one of the most important grain crops in China. Lodging a natural disaster that can cause significant yield losses and threaten food security. identification analysis contributes to evaluate cultivates lodging-resistant maize varieties. In this study, we collected visible multispectral images with an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), introduce comprehensive methodology workflow extract lodging features from UAV imagery. We use statistical methods screen several potential...

Above-ground biomass (AGB) is an important indicator for effectively assessing crop growth and yield and, in addition, ecological the efficiency with which crops use light store carbon ecosystems. However, most existing methods using optical remote sensing to estimate AGB cannot observe structures below maize canopy, may lead poor estimation accuracy. This paper proposes stem-leaf separation strategy integrated unmanned aerial vehicle LiDAR multispectral image data maize. First, correlation...

With environmental deterioration, natural resource scarcity, and rapid population growth, mankind is facing severe global food security problems. To meet future needs, it necessary to accelerate progress in breeding for new varieties with high yield strong resistance. However, the traditional phenotypic screening methods have some disadvantages, such as destructive, inefficient, low-dimensional, labor-intensive cumbersome, which seriously hinder development of field breeding. Breeders...
