The process by which a molecule in an intense laser field ionizes more efficiently as its bond length increases towards critical distance ${R}_{c}$ is known charge resonance enhanced ionization (CREI). We make series of measurements this for ${\mathrm{CO}}_{2}$, varying pulse duration from 7 to 200 fs, order identify the states and time scales involved. find that $4+$ higher states, 100 fs scale required reach geometry $⟨{R}_{\mathrm{CO}}⟩\ensuremath{\approx}2.1\text{ }\text{ }\AA{}$...

We have measured full momentum images of electrons rescattered from Xe, Kr, and Ar following the liberation these atoms by short, intense laser pulses. At high momenta spectra show angular structure (diffraction) which is very target dependent in good agreement with calculated differential cross sections for scattering free corresponding ionic cores.

Secondary electrons play critical roles in several imaging technologies, including extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography. At longer wavelengths of light (e.g. 193 and 248 nm), the photons are directly involved photochemistry occurring during photolysis. EUV (13.5 nm, 92 eV), however, first creates a photoelectron, this electron, or its subsequent daughter create most chemical changes that occur exposure. Despite importance these electrons, details surrounding events leading to acid...

Attosecond science has opened up the possibility of manipulating electrons on their fundamental timescales. Here, we use both theory and experiment to investigate ionization dynamics in helium attosecond timescale by simultaneously irradiating atom with a soft x-ray pulse train (APT) an ultrafast laser pulse. Because APT resolution energy time, observe processes that could not be observed without domains simultaneously. We show resonant absorption is important excitation small changes...
