Graphene layers grown on 6H-SiC(0001) were irradiated with 1 MeV electron beam to functionalize its surface. A surface analysis using atomic force microscopy, the near edge X-ray adsorption fine structure spectra of C K-edge, and photoemission spectroscopy suggests that irradiation in ambient condition can induce oxidation graphene layer.

In this study, we propose a method for predicting welding deformation caused by multi-pass using the thermal elastic–plastic finite element (TEP-FEM) considering interpass temperature. This increases temperature, which has not been considered in existing TEP-FEM, from 200 °C to 1000 °C, and simultaneously performs mechanical analyses. addition, can also evaluate temperature history time it takes weld. By method, angular distortion prediction was reduced 16.75 mm 10.9 compared case where...

A mixture of Al2O3 and GdAlO3 was melted rapid quenched to produce an amorphous film. Dense eutectic composites were consolidated from ground powder using both conventional spark plasma sintering (SPS). Conventional at temperatures above 1600°C for 24 h required complete sintering. However, SPS could be obtained between 1300 1500°C with no soaking. The technique consolidate ultrafine structure material, whilst not successful owing grain growth. combination quenching resulted in Al2O3–GdAlO3...

Abstract Residual thermal stresses in SiC/Ti 3 SiC 2 /SiC joining couples were calculated by Raman spectra and simulated finite element analysis, then relaxed successfully postannealing. The results showed that the residual stress between Ti was about on order of 1 GP a when cooling from 1300°C to 25°C. can be recovery structure disorders during When joints postannealed at 900°C, bending strength reached 156.9 ± 13.5 MP a, which almost twice as‐obtained joints. SiC fibre reinforced SiC–matrix ceramic composites were fabricated by electrophoretic deposition (EPD) combined with ultrasonication. Fine β-SiC powder and Tyranno-SA fabrics used as the matrix for reinforcement, respectively. Different amounts of fine Al2O3–Y2O3 added liquid phase assisted sintering. For EPD, highly dispersed slurry was prepared adjusting zeta potentials constituent particles to ⩾+40 mV homogeneous deposition. The composite properties compared after using two different...

Hydroxyapatite (HA) has been introduced as a bone grafting material due to its similar composition that of natural bone, along with lack toxicity and high chemical stability, which prevent inflammatory or antigenic reactions. However, the porosity HA leads increased osteoconductive capacity implant, while reducing mechanical resistance hence limiting clinical use. Research on properties such superplasticity necessary solve these disadvantages. In this study, boron nitride (BN; 0, 2, 4 wt %)...
