The use of organic molecules as an alternative strategy for achieving new nanoporous metal–organic materials has become attractive prospect. So far, the chemical coordination or crystal engineering techniques allows systematic design open-framework structures with a considerable range modulatable pore sizes and functionalities using different ligands such phosphane, cyano groups, N,N′-type polycarboxylic acids. Furthermore, transition metal ions opens possibility to obtain additional...

Two new chemosensors that exhibit high affinity and selectivity for Hg2+ in aqueous environment which operate through two different channels, optic/redox optic/fluorescent, are reported. The optical change sensing can be used even a "naked-eye" detection of ions, whereas the fluorescent response modulated by varying solvent polarity.

Recently, it was reported that crystals of the organic material dithiophene-tetrathiafulvalene (DT-TTF) have a high field-effect charge carrier mobility 1.4 cm2/(V·s). These were formed by simple drop-casting method, making this interesting to investigate for possible applications in low-cost electronics. Here, single-crystal transistors based on materials related DT-TTF are presented and clear correlation between crystal structure electrical characteristics is observed. The observed...

The novel and exciting field of molecular spintronics has recently attracted a great deal interest promising results have already been reported. utilisation organic radicals that could favour spin polarisation conservation during transport offers new possibilities; however, first fundamental investigation these materials, especially those deposited on surfaces, is required. Here we highlight our recent regarding the functionalisation surfaces with polychlorotriphenylmethyl (PTM) following...

A terbium double-decker phthalocyanine complex has been prepared and characterized. The mesomorphism of the liquid-crystalline is used as a tool to reversibly adjust its magnetic properties, thus allowing coexistence two different relaxation processes, which can be modified by simple thermal treatments, observed. Organic radicals are neutral, purely organic molecules exhibiting an intrinsic magnetic moment due to the presence of unpaired electron in molecule its ground state. This property, added low spin–orbit coupling and weak hyperfine interactions, make neutral good candidates for molecular spintronics insofar as radical character is stable solid state electronic devices. Here we show that paramagnetism polychlorotriphenylmethyl form a Kondo anomaly preserved two- three-terminal solid-state...

In electronics, the field‐effect transistor (FET) is a crucial cornerstone and successful integration of this semiconductor device into circuit applications requires stable ideal electrical characteristics over wide range temperatures environments. Solution processing, using printing or coating techniques, has been explored to manufacture organic transistors (OFET) on flexible carriers, enabling radically novel electronics applications. Ideal characteristics, in materials, are typically only...

General-purpose quantum computation and simulation require multi-qubit architectures with precisely defined, robust interqubit interactions, coupled local addressability. This is an unsolved challenge, primarily due to scalability issues. These issues often derive from poor control over interactions. Molecular systems are promising materials for the realization of large-scale architectures, their high degree positionability possibility tailor The simplest architecture two-qubit system, which...

Magnetic avalanches: A chiral polymeric manganese(II) complex with an enantiopure nitronyl nitroxide ligand (see structure of repeating unit; red: oxygen, green: nitrogen, blue: manganese) shows unusual magnetic behavior. The polymer orders magnetically in the bulk at 3 K, and reveals dynamic hysteretic effects as well a remarkable avalanche phenomenon below 0.3 K.

An attractive read: Magnetic Mn12 clusters are patterned by molding a dispersion in polymer matrix onto structured master (e.g., DVD). The protrusions of the replica surface disappear on exposure to solvent vapor, and concentrate at positions original protrusions. cluster distribution produces magnetic contrast, which can be imaged force microscopy (see picture).
