Abstract In this study, we develop an extended plane wave expansion method to determine the complex elastic band gaps for both in‐plane and out‐of‐plane vibrations in a viscoelastic phononic crystal (PnC) thin plate model under constant temperature field. The periodic structure of comprises unit cell (UC) consisting epoxy matrix circular steel inclusions. configuration, consider effects described by generalized Maxwell arising from matrix. Furthermore, incorporate thermal UC, accounting...

The extended plane wave expansion (EPWE) method is formulated in order to obtain the complex dispersion diagram of bulk waves 1-D viscoelastic phononic crystal solids considering standard linear solid model (SLSM). This new formulation important handle evanescent Bloch periodic structures for mechanical attenuation. effect can increase unit cell attenuation structures. In addition, relaxation time (up ωa/2πct=7) and decrease final state shear modulus (considering ωa/2πct≤1.9) enhance

Abstract The incorporation of expanded polystyrene (EPS) into concrete reduces its density, but also mechanical properties. Therefore, the with EPS is generally considered as a non-structural material. In this study, destructive and nondestructive techniques were used to analyze microstructural, mechanical, acoustic performances produced by particle packing method, replacing an increasing percentage (5 20%) coarse aggregate volume EPS. properties decreased, not enough for be non-structural;...

This paper analyzes the compressive strength of Portland cement concrete in response to incorporation 5%, 10% and 20% flat glass powder place sand, at w/c (water/cement) ratios 0.50, 0.55 0.58. A statistical analysis variance (ANOVA) was performed after 7, 14 28 days curing. The test results indicate that containing a ratio 0.50 can be used for structural applications, regardless waste content, as with glass. We suggest use sand abovementioned percentages is feasible production an...
